Hello there, In order to unlink an account, you must be able to authenticate the account. Bungie cannot forcibly de-link them. I would suggest contacting the platform concerning gaining access to the platform account. If you are unable to gain access to the account, then you will not be able unlink it from your current Bungie.net profile.

  • And what should I do? This account cannot be restored in any way, in PSN they told me you can disconnect it, I myself will not be able to do this and in PSN I also cannot do this because in fact this account does NOT EXIST it has been deleted

  • Bungie cannot forcibly remove links, if you are unable to authenticate it, that account is stuck on your current Bungie.net profile.

  • I'm losing access to the crossplay just because I can't authenticate an account that just doesn't exist, but for some reason it's hanging anyway, is that okay?

  • Is this normal in your opinion? Is this how the system should work? Do I have to authenticate a record that just doesn't exist? And why did the PSN tech support respond that you can untie, I attached screenshots on the imgur website, bungie is a subsidiary, call a more senior employee who is responsible for this

Authentication is done through each platform's authentication service. That authentication is part of the security systems in place. Just as you authenticated to the account in order to link it to your profile, you must also be able to authenticate to it in order to unlink it. If you cannot pass the security checks in place, then no changes will be made. Bungie does not store your information; a token is generated when you log in to the service using that platform's authentication method, and that's what Bungie uses to allow you access to make changes. If you cannot get that token to say you have access, then you won't have access to make changes using that token that you don't have. Playstation support sent you back to Bungie because you said the issue was that you couldn't unlink your old PSN ID from Bungie.net. You don't need Playstation support to unlink the account, you need Playstation support to recover the account so you can log in to it. Bungie will not forcefully unlink the account, so your only option is to recover the account if you want to maintain your current Bungie.net profile. If you cannot recover the account, and thus, cannot actually pass the security check, then the account will not be unlinked. As far as is this normal; I'm not the person you asked, but me, personally: I think so, yes. If you go to a bank and tell them you lost your photo ID, and their only way to authenticate you is through that photo ID, and you want to make changes to that specifically linked account and want to remove its access from your bank, the bank will tell you to go to your photo ID's issuing agency to get another. In this instance, Bungie is your bank; Bungie does not keep your information, their only way is through authentication to the account involved; you want to make changes to that account; you don't have any way to prove to Bungie that you're actually the person with access, so your only option is to get your ID back. If Playstation support cannot assist you or recover your PSN ID for you (that should be your discussion with them, nothing involving the link to Bungie.net should be mentioned), then your Bungie.net profile will have it permanently linked. If that's the case, if you don't have Cross-Save already enabled, your only real option will be to move to a new Bungie.net profile with your actual active accounts. Keep in mind that if you choose to do this, any rewards linked specifically to this Bungie.net profile will become unavailable. You can view what those are here: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Codes/History . In addition, it's possible that one or more of the partner rewards may become unavailable for use; you can find those here: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Codes/Partners .

  • The only thing your screenshot shows is that you talked to them about unlinking the account, which they cannot assist you with, so they sent you back to Bungie. Bungie will not forcefully link the account.

  • I do not know how many times I need to say this, my PSN account has been deleted and cannot be restored, 30 days have passed since it was deleted and PSN will not be able to restore it in any way

  • I specifically mentioned the case in which Playstation support cannot or will not assist you in my response:
If Playstation support cannot assist you or recover your PSN ID for you (that should be your discussion with them, nothing involving the link to Bungie.net should be mentioned), then your Bungie.net profile will have it permanently linked. • yes, this is normal. Removing the account should come before deletion. Bungie will not/cannot forcibly remove the account. Accounts can only be changed after being authenticated. If you're trying to set up cross-save, then your only option will be to create a new Bungie.net profile and then unlink/relink the accounts you actually want to that new Bungie.net profile. Just keep in mind that if you go with the new Bungie.net profile, you will lose access to the code-granted bonuses you've redeemed on Bungie.net because those are tied to your current Bungie.net profile. You can see what you'll lose here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/Codes

  • you do understand that if I create another bungie profile, I will not be able to transfer my destiny characters there, as they will remain right there on this account

Were your characters created on the PSN ID? Based on your Bungie.net profile, your characters are part of your Steam save data, not your Playstation save data. Moving your Steam ID to a different profile will not change your save data in any way outside of removing access to those things already mentioned.

  • Your characters are bound to your platform account, as long as you move that platform to the new profile your characters will follow

  • I can confirm my ownership of the account, I have an email linked that has never changed since the account was linked, I remember the entire account history, connect me with a more senior employee, not someone who just answers questions on the forum, but with a technical developer

  • PSN support gave you inaccurate information. Bungie does not forcibly unlink any accounts for security reasons.
