In Destiny 1, you could jump in at any point and you had a lot of content to play. You could do anything you wanted, when you wanted. Want to grind strikes for hours for hopscotch pilgrim? Go ahead. Want to help friends with the Thorn exotic mission? Enjoy! Want to raid each week on all characters? By all means! There was no timer ticking in the back of your mind, that the content that you payed for, was going to disappear before you unlocked it. FOMO killed this game for me, hands down. The more I feel forced to play a certain way, on a time limit, THE LESS I feel compelled to engage.
Don’t even come at me with that “no one’s forcing you” BS. Of course no one is forcing me idiot, that’s why I’m not engaging… it’s the attempt. The attempt to dominate my time with manipulation.
My interest in the game started going downhill from there and the add-ons since then only slowed it for a short while.
