Same here. Clicking play on steam -> 10 seconds -> loading symbol appears -> game closes.
At least i found something, cause i was ready to uninstall and reinstall.
Did you find any solution?

If you opted into the Steam client beta? then Opting out fixed this issue for me. it Should be in Steam > Settings > Interface

I was trying for about an hour of other fixes online and you just saved me @SCRB, as if the steam beta client was -blam!- me. Such a niche problem ffs. Cheers again.
