I thought it was because they made some major engine enhancments and updating all of the content would have taken too long and been way more work than it was worth considering a lot of it got very little attention? Also for streamlining updating and such. I dont remember it being said it was for server stability?
Yeah it was due to the massive upgrades they did, that’s also why we’re seeing issues now because the upgrades were gonna cause problems
They were prepared for that, Also if a game becomes too bloated it could cause weird memory leaks which are never fun
