Because they are CHOOSING to work on their newest project. Marathon. A skeleton crew clearly is running the ship.
They treated Destiny like Halo. I wish they would sell the franchise to an entity who actually cares about Destiny.

I wish Bioware didnt go limp on Anthem and not follow in Destinys footsteps. Anthem could have been an amazing game and competitor making Bungie care and giving players 2 different and interesting game to enjoy. The Destiny-Killer is Destiny 2.

I completely agree. Anthem's design team also included people from a Youtube group called OatsStudio who made amazing content, that's why it looks so good. Too bad EA Greed killed it. It's been a really bad couple years for gamers. Halo Pokemon Destiny (Lightfall) RedFall Overwatch 2 Cyberpunk Battlefield 2042 Modern Warfare 2 so so so many more...

They supposedly dragged out dev time because they didn’t want to have anything to do with Destiny and would cut out anything resembling it but they backtracked on this decision. Such a shame. I still play it once a year.

That’s definitely worth a read if you haven’t gotten to the itty gritty of Anthem’s development. Nowadays, it feels like the bulk of problems with game development and their life quality stems from either bad leadership or a lack thereof.

I feel like a good decision would be to just give Anthem open mod tools for players to add whatever content to the game like Halo MCC is doing. Just look at RejectedShotgun's HugeGrass mod. He's literally giving fans everything they want and more AS A FAN, NOT EVEN A 343i Employee.

I didn’t play as much of the grinding gear aspect, but I did truly enjoy Anthem’s Javelin mechanics and gameplay. Having proper aerial movement in any game nowadays is hard to get right, but feels good when it hits the itch just right.

If only they gave the game basic polish on loading and bugs/UI it would have never shut down. Shame what the misdirection did to the game. It could have dethroned Destiny for at least a few months.

From what I understand, the old game engine they were using didn’t help it much and the fact that they had the work split up between two studios after the main one was short on resources before they started building the game up proper around 6-9 months before an already set release date…there wouldn’t have been enough time to smooth out the technical kinks in the rug. It’s no wonder that their ME:Andromeda flopped too.

Such a shame it really is. Not mad just disappointed
