Guardian ranks resetting every season means I don’t care about them.
It’s basically just another title but a less compelling one. This is also why the 750 commendations is too high. At the very least it needs gilding, but honestly it should have been much more involved and substantial. Everyone being a 6 is boring and meaningless. Grinding to have a 7-10 is not compelling. There needs to be something else displayed by people’s names besides a meaningless number.

1 ReplyResetting them every season is a joke to be honest. Resetting them after 3 months of earning them only to do it all again is pointless and makes the ranks pointless too. To become the highest if acquired only for it to be reset the next season and be called veteran again, what a waste of time Bungie!!!

I don't think it's anything more than a crap system to boost time played, there's almost nothing new in Lightfall except reskinned content and the same exact public events we've had for YEARS. And the campaign was absolute trash, the marketing team did well on the trailers being extremely misleading. Neomuna is boring, it sucks imo honestly I thought it would be a HUGE NEON CITY (which you can see one in the distance it's just another "You see that mountain over there? You can go there!" Lie) swinging around with strand like Spider-Man when on patrols doing public events.

1 ReplyTo be honest, I stopped caring about ranks and levels in this game a long time ago. Usually, I just do regular-difficulty raid farms, and there is no advantage to being above 1350 in those cases. Unless I'm going for the odd master/gm strike completion, I could not be bothered to chase arbitrary numbers. In fact, last night I did a mission for Vexcaliber at 1782 and the game literally bumped me up to 1790 temporarily to complete it. So you're telling me I'll just be gifted these free ranks and don't have to work for them? That's a pretty huge Achilles Heel

They say the game cant handle extra content because it overwhelms the game then they add useless stuff like this!

its just a new power level. In D1 if you wern't 30 you had a hard time doing VoG. them it was triumph score that other players judged you on. This is just another way of dividing people, and not in a god way. Also totally agree that its pointless if it resets.

Half the time plaers leave fireteam b4 commendations can be given. Unless you have a large group you play with this is going to be a problem. The who idea is just poorly executed. You can't even give negative feedback!?

I want to know if we lose the 4 loadouts at the end of the season that we get from a flawless lost sector. If so then what’s the point. It would be better to just get used to only having six.

I think considering what you have to do, most won't reach 11 by the end of the season but if by some grace of God u could , you wouldn't hold the title for long which makes it pointless

THEY'RE SO EASY DUDE. One of the rank 6 challenges is "spend an enhancement prism on your armor." That's prerequisite to getting rank "Veteran". That means any Veteran is no better than someone who just barely figured out what an enhancement prism is lol. 2) There is no reason at all why your rank should reset on a schedule. That's like saying your skill level resets on a schedule, because skill level is what's supposed to be represented by your rank. All ranks except 10 and 11 should be timeless, and the challenges for 10 and 11 should be few, but HARD. Like rank 10 objectives should give a choice between the near-hardest of pve or pvp, so say like a clear of the latest master raid [u]or[/u] going flawless a number of times in trials. And then rank 11 should be a FLAWLESS master raid, or a number of flawless passages earned via a game with a significant score difference (like 5-1 or 5-2). Yes I know it's barely attainable at rank 11 but that's the point. It's just a number on your profile so if you want to look like the king of Destiny, go for it. And the way you can make that acceptable is by making each rank (7-9) feel valuable. Right now the ranks don't feel like a test of your skill; they just seem like a measuring tool for how much you [i]don't[/i] touch grass lol. 3) If that wasn't enough, it's also effectively a paid game mechanic because of the season-related objectives in rank 7 lol. I love the game but this is terrible in the funniest possible way lol

1 ReplyYou should have only been a 6 if you played every season from season 1 till now. Really we should have started at 10 if we played every season. Anyone else should have been forced into 1 or 2. The rank needs to stay forever, no resets. TAKE PLAYTIME INTO ACCOUNT FOR THESE RANKS. Anyone that started after beyond light should have automatically been a 1.

I think anyone who has worked at a larger software company can see how this happened. It was put on a roadmap my some manager as an item the would boost player engagement. This system wasn’t thought out but the dev team had a deadline to hit to say they got this feature done so they shipped it.

Each level has rewards and in the Al future they’re supposed to be how you unlock mods. I say I was hoping that the rank thing would be a way to tell actual skill and how long a player has been playing. Like I’ve been playing since beta, but I’m the same rank as a new light. Just feels like the ranking thing doesn’t really help you tell if a player is actually experienced or not.

I remember when they mentioned wanting the number next to a players name to actually mean something, only for it to still be the same as before with how badly implemented it is.
