Strand is fun in PvE... But not to play against in PvP.
I am pretty sure its capabilities to stun players for several seconds will kill PvP even more than already for most players, especially the ones that DIDN'T buy Lightfall.
We are more and more approaching the clear, distinctive line where we as players can say "yeah, this is pay2win".
We had the same problem with Stasis on Beyond Light Launch and it will be the very same situation with Strand and Lightfall.
It will be the most abused subclass of the year and we will probably see fair nerfs in PvP for it at the end of the year (knowing Bungie here due to their patch history). Just like with Stasis.
Folks, I want to warn you. This year of PvP will be horrible in the experience. If you want to PvP, reconsider it and think about it if it is really the annoyance and anger worth to play.
I for sure know I won't play much PvP. Simply because each class has their way to "puppeteer" you against your will every 1 minute per person via their abilities and regen builds.

Supers are supers, they shouldn’t be fun to go up against in pvp. They should evoke fear in foes. I miss the days when players ran from supers. Bungie had the nerve to think they made pve challenging like d1(didn’t it worse), but won’t make pvp like d1s pvp.

Bumgie will do what they always do, leave everything completely unbalanced on their jenga servers and keep stacking so as not to have to do actual work. (Aside from artists, of course)
