Good day everyone! Me and my friend were talking about how fun zombies from CoD, firefight from Halo, and horde from GoW were very fun from time to time, but did not have a real incentive to play them like they could have in Destiny. I feel like this is something that could benefit the game well if done correctly. Just some ideas that we came up with in our short little conversation. - [b]Loot Based[/b] As all good things in Destiny should be it has to have loot. But what if this was one of the few modes that could get you to endgame gear that you could do as long as you put time in to do? A simple solution off the bat is bounties that let you unlock a chest on certain waves, say every 10, and can only be unlocked on that wave. That way you have to make a decision as a player to risk that chest or risk your key that you worked hard to get. - [b]Difficulty[/b] An important thing to think of, How difficult can you make it before the loot is not worth it? I feel like this would be the hardest thing to balance as you could make it as hard a GM nightfall if you got to that wave, but can you give out GM grade loot? I feel like it would be something you would have to opt into from the start so you would be able to change your loadout around. - [b]Levels / Locations[/b] I feel like this is where many cool things could happen. Lore wise we always hear of great battles like The Twilight Gap or The Burning Lake, even the Six Fronts. But we never get to experience these battles ourselves. Maybe this is a way that we can etch our Guardians name further into history with new battles. - [b]Gameplay / Loot[/b] Something else that could also be reimplemented is strike specific loot, but it would be (Insert name here) loot. I loved trying to get strike specific loot in D1, it really helped keep the game alive for me in between content. As far as actually gameplay loop I feel like daily bounties or something similar would be needed in order to either open chests or open the mode itself. Maybe even both were mode specific bounties can earn you keys to get in and open chests faster, than ones you can get playing anywhere. Boss levels can get thrown in as well before a chest. But I think the most important thing would be no respawns, only team revives. It would make it an actual survival game mode and then if the whole team wipes you are kicked back to orbit, to have to reopen the mode again. Our thought for waves to loot ratio was every 5-10 waves there is a loot cache room, you have to decide there to get the chest or wait to see if you can make it to the next one, or if you have multiple keys open as many as you have keys. Granted this seems like a very good place to grind out light levels for day one raids, so I feel like it would either have to be capped to a certain point or not opened until the 24 hours are up. This is what I have so far, If you have an opinions or additions on how to make this better please do so. As someone that has played since D1 beta I really do think this is something that can help the game out in the long run.
