People so focused on Gambit that they don't even stop to think that it leaving could give space for a different pvevp activity. Gambit doesn't have to be the end of that type of mode, but I think it's at or near the end of it's current iteration. Nothing wrong with that.

I actually agree with that a lot. If we see a major overhaul of the game mode, one that can work better with the current sandbox, I think that would be great. If that means ignoring it for the time being, or phasing it out for a little bit, so be it. My problem is that Bungie didn't show any plans on 'overhauling' it, rather they show that they don't care about it at all. I still would want the Drifter to head the new game mode though.

I have long thought Gambit needed a rework. Like a biiiig one, and at that point, you might as well just make it an entirely new activity but for sure use the drifter, the same mechanics-ish. Doesn't have to be night/day different but bring something much different. I do obviously see many people just saying to drop it altogether. I am not Gambit's biggest fan by any means but I see the value in modes like it, so I would like to see them offer something pvevp. I think an area that operates like the dark zone from division or like tarkov maps would be sick. Buncha yellow bar enemies and mini-to-big bosses on a map and drop 10-20 guardians on it to fight over something (capture zone, motes, an item, whatever) and if you win, you get a chest and if you lose you get some glimmer and shards or something for your time. Idk. There's lots they could do.

I can definitely see that world, would not be upset if Gambit had to go to come back bigger and better than ever, slap a new name on it, and have fun. Just upset that Bungie seems to be leaving the entire idea to rot yknow? Like so much potential CAN be there.
