Call for Feedback from Destiny 2 Team

Hey Guardians, We've just created a new account here to enable us to post here on the forums more. We will be talking about this Destiny 2 Team account and others on 3rd party platforms in the TWAB shortly. For our inaugural post we wanted to create a thread to gather up some of your top priorities for changes you want to see in the game. Comment below with your feedback. Share whatever you like, just keep it civil and concise so we can read through as many as possible.

    A suggestion for mobility rework Keep everything how it is now and add to it a % of max sprint speed at 80, 90 and 100 mobility. This does not work with movement exotics. Stompees, dunes ,transverse sprint speed. Tie stompees to triple jump, it's strafe jump that makes them nutty.. Give us a way to be fast and use other exotics. Also remove bonus melee lunge on exotics, give em more damage or something, it causes rubber banding.

  • 1, [b]PvP not having dedicated servers[/b] - this creates or compounds the largest issues in the crucible. If this isn’t possible, a future post explaining why would be greatly appreciated. 2, [b]Transmog is too restrictive[/b] - money should not dictate freedom to express and identify with your in-game avatar. There has been some great documentation on how online personas have helped support IRL identity struggles, ethically the potential impact this can have shouldn’t come at a premium. 3, [b]Core playlists increase burnout[/b] - without consistent appropriate refreshes (new strikes/maps and modes) whilst there being an emphasis on long-form engagement, will progressively contribute to player burnout more and more over time.

      Wow. First question is why has your own forums been such a low - the very lowest, actually - priority, to the point of omitting all mention of it over Reddit and Twitter in almost every instance? But great, if this is a much belated change. Priorities: 1. Opening up Dungeons and future 1 - 3 player quests to be in line with e.g. Legendary campaign, Legendary Seraph quest. That is, appropriately [b]scaling and equalising the difficulty to fireteam size[/b] so no-one is at a very significant advantage or disadvantage (prohibitively so in many cases) just because of numbers. Challenge modes can be retained of course and set to extra difficulty settings, as well as retaining eg Flawless triumphs. Particularly important when these are now being sold separately, a sizeable content in themselves, and are a big part of Deluxe editions. 2. Urgent rectifications for Warlock Light Classes. See Ehroar's famous YouTube video on how disastrous Light reworks and giveaways of many of its functions were for Warlock in PvE in all three Subclasses, see e.g. True Vanguard's video devoted to the same topic in PvP. 3. Open up matchmaking to higher difficulties. Where matchmaking isn't deemed feasible - perhaps GMs, etc. then implement difficulty-levelling to team-size. Matchmaking at maximum should at least give the minimum chance for Adept weapons. Otherwise you're again cutting out people from the game. 4. Multiple perk slots for craftable weapons. 5. Bigger Vault space. 6. Reducing or phasing out Champions. 7. Shader, emote and transmog item favouriting, and also a saved looks page. 8. Accurate and updatable specific information on perks on the items, in the game eg such as can be found on Gunsmith.com. 9. An updated firing range (with an adjacent Vault!) with an actual ground (for GLs), a way to procc perks such as Kill clip, Surrounded etc. 10. Alternative and determinate sources or quest lines for Raid exotics. 11. Gambit. Remember Gambit? For a core Ritual activity this has been neglected even more than Crucible. Please give it a lick of paint or three. 12. Remove power-levelling or alternatively auto-elevate all our gear once the soft cap has been reached. Cheers!

      • Changes that we would like to see: 1. Dedicated servers in PvP. 2. Removal on caps for exotic alloys and shards. 3. More ways to spend glimmer. Bounties are not cutting it. 4. Better looking helmets for all characters. Most look incongruent and poorly designed. 5. Fully fledged new light mission(s) that introduces the player to all the history and where we have been/where we are going type of thing. The game is now nearly insurmountable for new players. There is little direction and quite a bit of incongruity and inconsistency. 6. Discontinue event upgrade cards for annual pass holders (should be included). 7. Stop listening to streamers for changes that only benefit them. 8. More Fast travel points in the Dream City, Cosmodome and Throne World. 9. Content that is new and not borrowed or recycled. 10. Seamless in game reporting for bad behavior and cheating.

        • I really want Chaos Reach to be a viable super again when it comes to PvE content such as Nightfalls or Raids. The total damage output of the super itself isn't worth the time it takes to use it completely (even with Geomag Stabilizers). The super isn't worth using if 2 rockets or Touch of Flame fusion grenades do much more damage in a shorter time frame. Also it would be nice to have other Super options (like Chaos Reach as mentioned above) be Viable in High-End PvE content. Most Warlocks have been relegated to using Well of Radiance since after Forsaken dropped. Some of us want to use other subclasses for more difficult content, not the same subclass super we've been using for about over 4 or 5 years now. P.S: Could Daybreak get some of it's PvE viability back? It's seen better days before the Solar 3.0 update. The super needs help [i]badly[/i].

        • Dawnblade: needs daybreak buffed back to bottom tree conditions, phoenix dive needs a significant cool down reduction, heat rises and Icarus should be consolidated and new fragment needed, too arial for much use in high end PvE. Maybe consider returning song of flame radiance for both lore and alternative to well. Stormcaller: Stormtrance needs a damage buff to keep up with Nova Warp in terms of add clearing, chaos reach needs more damage or function to justify its use against other supers in raids Voidwalker: add 1 extra slot to granade fragment (doesn’t make sense with both dawn and strikers having 2) Update vanguard ops dialogue and pretext for pretty much everything except beyond light and the corrupted. Considering looking at adjusting super damage high archy presently doesn’t make sense in-terms damage versus risk versus extra utility Release a season calander for IB, trials, and timing of events, story time can be excluded. Bring back crimson doubles Sorry I had a lot to say and this is as concise as I can get it without too much extra detail. Some of my older posts go into better detail on my ideas if something catch your eye I can copy and paste better details from older posts if asked to.

          • Bring Warlocks up to speed with the other two classes. 3.0 was a clear and solid buff for Hunters and Titans, but it only nerfed Warlocks. There's no benefit the Warlock has to pick it over the others aside from Well, so when it comes to groups, that's what they're forced to do. Here's a list of changes to make: 1. Merge heat rises with icarus dash like it once was. 2. Create solar aspect that is essentially bottom tree 2.0, where it more so enhances burn and explosions. 3. Voidlock chaos accellerant is bad. It takes time to charge AND has only 1 fragment compared to all the other aspects that enhance grenades without time to charge and they still get 2 fragments. If we have to charge, we should get 3. 4. We are forced to do nothing but support with our well during raids, so warlocks should also get the most powerful damage super in the game, that way the team has to make a hard choice between either support or damage. You can even make it chaos reach since it's damage over time, not instant. 5. Arc is amplified how? Seriously, amplified does nothing yet the ad was warlocks are all about enhancing their abilities through amplified. Let our grenades, chaining, and melee aspect be amplified so it's actually worth being amplified. This can also be how you achieve point number 4 by amplifying our super and combining that with geomag.

          • Here is my top feedback: Ignore the uninspiring quality of life suggestions. They don’t make the game more fun. They don’t give us a reason to play during content droughts. They don’t give me a reason to keep playing through content droughts. Focus on the cool ideas that might increase player retention and give us reasons to keep playing the game through content droughts. Take a few seasons to simply flesh out content and add new game modes like battle royale, PvEvP zones, add an auction house, add player housing, pump out boss specific loot (like strike specific loot, but for all yellow bar named enemies in the game).

            • The focus needs to be player retention between DLC’s. Here is how you can maintain that: 1. Patrol zones are currently useless file space. These could be filled out with things to flesh out the game: - Skyrim/Witcher style quests with enough depth to keep players engaged. - PvEvP zones - rare vendors selling random things (think xur, but selling non-exotic interesting things) - fleshed out stories that immerse us in the world 2. PvP is currently “50 ways to play team deathmatch”. Let’s change that: - battle royale needs to be tested - survival game modes are worth a shot - more objective game modes (ACTUAL objective game modes, not “it’s team deathmatch [i]but you only have 6 lives, wow![/i]” 3. Auction house - this is possible and would give players more reasons to grind content once they’ve obtained everything they want. - this would require a lot more loot pumped into the game - no selling raid weapons or exotics 4. Player housing - additional items “decor” to grind for - great opportunity for cash shop sales - perfect place to display your trophies 5. Boss-Specific loot (think strike specific loot, but for most named yellow bars on the game) - more reasons to play content - low drop rates to give the grinders something to chase - interesting boss themed loot Currently, the content in the game has no real replayable appeal. Crucible should achieve this, but the crucible game modes are unappealing as they’re all based on an archaic PvP game mode (Team Deathmatch), and it’s 2023. Time to catch up with other PvP games to compete. Time to flesh out the PvE content with reasons to play content more than once.

            • So... is matching really based on skill level? Because it doesn't seem like it is. I know I'm out of my comfort zone in Crucible and not very good but, the matchmaking... I don't know what to say. It seems like I'm being placed against players way beyond my skill level that I can't get any progress in ranks and losing way more points getting stomped by these teams. Then again, I'm not sure how this point system works.

              • Please create the ability to use legendary universal ornaments on exotic gear. I hate using an exotic that doesn’t look appropriate for, or complement, the rest of my gear simply because I want a specific exotic perk. Also, I will pay money for classic Halo BR and Magnum ornaments to apply to the BxR and Forerunner, please add them!

              • Can you add VERTICAL look & ads SENSITIVITIES to the settings, please (specifically for console players). It would really help us to have separate settings for VERTICAL sensitivities and separate settings for HORIZONTAL sensitivities. Right now… the settings for horizontal sensitivities are fine on consoles but what’s missing completely are the settings for vertical look & ADS sensitivities.

              • Dedicated servers. One thing can fix so many of the issues the game has and it’s the one thing that will take real effort and money to implement. No more excuses, it’s an effort and investment problem, for a billion dollar developer this isn’t acceptable.

                          • Exotic weapons should accept shaders. What about ornaments? Well exotic armor have ornaments and one can apply shaders on them. I also think that people would probably buy more weapon ornaments, if they could match the looks with their armor by applying a shader to the weapon.

                              For pvp, we need abilities to only refill from kills, (that will save the need of nerfing ability cooldowns which can affect pve) and special ammo should only drop from kills. (especially since you havent kept your word on focusing on gun play with kinetick weapons, and less abilities)

                              • Ignore literally everyone not saying dedicated servers. Their opinions are noteworthy in the future where you have dedicated servers and a game that runs properly like any other AAA game
