Character Deleted During Contacting Destiny Server.

I just had my titan deleted when I logged in. I didn't do anything out of the normal, I just logged in and selected my titan, and then I got a black screen with the little text at the bottom of the screen saying contacting servers. Once it was done, it returned me to the character select screen but my titan was missing and I'm assuming everything I had on the titan which was most of my crafted and god roll weapons. Doubt there's anything that can be done about this but if there is, I'd like to hear it.

    Hi, We've seen threads similar to these before and Bungie [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/258462570?sort=0&page=0]has previously confirmed[/url] that characters cannot be deleted due to server issues due to the way Destiny/Destiny 2 characters are saved (you can read the post yourself at the link). That being said, either : 1. Someone else has access to one of your platform accounts. 2. This was done on your end knowingly or unknowingly. Either way, as already mentioned, Bungie does not recover deleted characters (or other items) as mentioned in their policy.         Edit: I posted this because it seemed that Bungies responce was saying "your lying because this can't happen". They have since clarified their responce. However, I am going to leave my original post due to the fact that I posted it in the first place. Bungie has said on a similar post that the only way Bungie will ever belive anyone this happens to is if it was recorded. Which means that one of the following needs to happen: 1. We all start recording all of our playtime so that we can send video proof to Bungie when this inevitably happens again to someone. 2. This has to happen to a streamer during a stream. According to Bungie, that is the "Best case scenario" Of course, even if someone does capture this on video, Bungie was probably claim its faked, because it's not supposed to be possible. What a load of crap. The post that supposedly provides an answer starts with all of someone's characters being deleted 3 different times, and on the third deletion their vault was wiped and the characters on a DIFFERENT x-box lost gear and suffered a sever loss to their power level. With this post, combined with their post on Reddit, this was clearly the fault of Bungie servers, probably the API. Not surprising, given that Bungie recently had to disable the API, and the community has been experiencing a flood of error codes booting them to orbit. So don't try to claim the servers work well, because they don't. This vile sludge of inaction, laziness, cowardice, and disdain is incredibly sickening. Downvote me all you want, it won't change the fact that I'm right. Even if Bungie locks this thread, doing so will only serve to strengthen my argument that Bungie is so scared of admitting that their servers aren't perfect, that their willing to ignore, or completly shutdown anyone who dares question their authority. I am not the kind of person who normally gets upset over these kind of things, but when something like this happens, I have no choice but to be blunt and accurate, even if Bungie doesn't like it.

        • That is horrifying, I'm not playing until this gets a responce from Bungie. Saw your post on Reddit. Both Forbes and TheGamer have mentioned this in articles, nd your Reddit post has 3.4k comments. This needs a response from Bungie ASAP.

              For anyone who this may also happen to, If you have cross save enabled, immediately jump on another platform and check your character rosters. Also, you can go to your cross play settings and view your cloud based character saves. Furthermore, I recommend saving your characters as your main on a platform that you don’t actually play on, but keep up to date. That way, if anything happens, you can double triple check your cloud saves and see if you can find a way to restore your saved characters to the platform you lost them from.

              • you do have a deleted character that hod over 1500hrs played. that said, characters can only be deleted in-game and after a long-press. if you didn't do it i would suggest to change your credentials on all linked accounts and enable 2fa
