I would like to preface this with the fact that a majority of my playing was in the Freelance playlist. Therefore, some elements of what I'm about to say might not apply in the same fashion or even apply at all.
And most importantly, this is all my personal opinion.
If your opinion differs from mine, good! I encourage you to speak up! Make yourself heard!
The Game Mode.
The bottom line is, it's alright. It has some fun elements, but there are some glaring elements that takes it down from being a great mode.
Match length-wise, it's a tad too long for my liking. Having to reach 125 can prove a drag especially if teams are evenly matched. It does not do wonders for my mental health... Also, everytime there's bubble titans in the match, a vast majority are relegated on the opposing team, where as my team gets one, ME!
Matchmaking & Connectivity.
In the beginning, the matchmaking felt punitive, as wins seemed to be very few and far between. Also, during some matches, there were moments where opponents were rubberbanding or the like.
Ranking Up & Reward Structure.
Whether the RNG is bugged or not, it's not for me to say, but having to do a rank reset to even obtain the entire armor set(due to one piece not dropping) is not fun. In my optics at least, it does not help with the retainalibity of players in the mode if it's by design.
Hiding the emblem and the Shader behind the reset, with having to reach rank 16 once more to get the shader is a bit heartbreaking for my Shader-loving self.
Even with a multiplier of 11.0x, the rank-up progress feels sluggish, especially when you're nearing the 5000-mark.
The fluctuating rank rep is confusing, because there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it does so. I personally would like some explanation as to why it might be doing that.
Also the amount of Blowouts i've been getting has been excessive. on top of that, having matches where you get nothing but glimmer is a bit disheartening.
I know Bungie most likely wants you to spread out your progress across the two weeks Iron Banner is here, but having reduced the occurances of IB in a season, it doesn't help if your progress is slowed as well.
Triumphs & Titles.
The gilding triumph where wins are required felt punitive as I mentioned earlier, wins in this mode seemed very few and far between.

This is one of the most well-thought-out posts of what could definitively be called FEEDBACK I've seen posted on the forum. You expressed your grievances, questions, and personal insights without going on an offensive and devolving into a tirade of insults and cursing. If more of these were posted, actual positive change could (possibly) happen.

Well stated!

I would add to the piece on match length that the scoring is set up to drag things out when the conclusion is already determined. Most matches I've been in, one team has a 25-30 point lead after second zone to the point where if the cap one zone and hold it they've won... it just takes forever to tick through the time. That's especially painful when you're on the losing side and just waiting for it to be over, knowing that no amount of heroics can pull a win out of the dumpster fire that was your team's inability to cap the fortress even once.

What they need to fix as well, I didn't see it in your post. But it's the powerful engram you get for ranking up IB. Each time I've collected it, it's been nothing but world drops. Needs to be strictly IB gear.

The only thing I would say is a negative thing is we definitely get far less Iron Banner loot, whether its guns or armor than in previous seasons.

Agreed with regard to match length Id be fine just with a 100 point goal, most of the time the team who is infront after the second major zone drop wins it so theres no point dragging it out. Rewards are horrible, IB used to be known for its great and plentiful drops. Ive had quite good rng to be honest only missing a pair of gauntlets on my titan and full sets for hunter and lock but many have reset 2x and still dont have full sets on any, thats bad for player engagement and retention. The blowout (and non IB) drops are too much, non IB gear shouldnt be dropping at all only IB gear. Titan bubbles while yes can be countered are not balanced, super cooldown for this game mode needs to have equal base rate for all supers then player builds alone dictate the actual cooldown but a tier 10 bubble should be the same as a tier 10 nova bomb, silence and squall etc. I actually would prefer the cabal drop a supression shield with the turret so no outlier abilities or supers can sway the battle for the special points
