...and everyone just sucks at countering it.

As a pretty much exclusive Bubble main since day 1, I can promise you it’s not that difficult to counter Ward of Dawn. People walk into my bubble all the time without a plan and expect to kill me. Then, when I immediately kill them, they get upset and say bubble is broken. It’s not.
Here’s a list of (the best) ways to counter it:
-supers (obviously) Thundercrash and nova bomb can both kill the Bubble and Titan inside with absolutely zero effort. Well of Radiance (yes, seriously). A smart WoR user can almost always beat a bubble. It provides the constant healing THROUGH THE BUBBLE while the enemy titan does not get constant healing even inside. If you drop it just outside the bubble, there’s literally nothing the Titan can do, since they’d have to leave the bubble to destroy the sword, all while you continue to get constant healing while inside of his own bubble. Blade barrage destroys bubble if all blades hit. Celestial nighthawk can kill the Titan through bubble with a direct hit. Warlock stormcaller’s landfall GOES INTO the bubble while above it. Sentinel shield can just block and kill the Titan even without attacking. Most roaming supers that can spam attack make easy work of the Titan inside. There’s more but those are the easiest.
-abilities If you’re a Titan, you can literally just drop your own barricade inside and it does MUMBO damage to the Titan inside while preventing him from shooting you. Shoulder charge (especially void suppressing shoulder charge) can push the Titan out of the bubble with physics for you to shotgun/punch them immediately after before they can get back into their bubble. Warlock void melee also does this but is harder to do without getting killed by the Titan inside. Any lingering grenade you can throw inside that continues to damage the Titan inside will force them to leave the bubble to regain the overshield. If the Titan drops a barricade inside the bubble, USE IT to prevent them from shooting you: when they try to punch through their barricade to hit you, shotgun them in the face. Hunter smoke grenade is great at disorienting the Titan inside.
-weapons Literally any heavy weapon. Witherhoard and bastion both are probably the best non-heavy options. Bastion can insta-kill and witherhoard can cause strong lingering damage even without a direct hit. Shotguns, especially with one-two punch, are another option but require a bit more effort. If the Titan inside sucks, just use sidearms/SMGs.
-overwhelming force If you don’t suck at PvP, 2 or more people can almost always kill a Titan inside.
The only reason people think bubble is overpowered is because of the current game modes’ reliance on zones that need to be captured (trials, control, IB, etc). However, THIS IS IT’S SOLE PURPOSE OF A SUPER: zone control and defense. Nobody cares when a thundercrash, blade barrage, nova bomb, etc can wipe entire teams in one move. But when a Titan drops a stationary bubble, everyone loses their minds.
Arc Titan is objectively unbalanced right now with how incredibly potent all the abilities (super, grenade, and melee) are. The fact I’m seeing more people complaining about bubble (which has many easy counters that I listed above) is pretty hilarious honestly. It’s so easy to disrespect a bubble Titan that I don’t know how people are struggling against it.
TL;DR Stop complaining about Bubble doing its intended job and learn how to counter it. There are much more overpowered things in PvP than someone dropping a bubble on a zone.

Something can “fulfill” its role and still be OP.
-
Bubble’s not OP. Bungie just made the choice to have the bonus point thing spawn right when only the Tier 1 supers be available. This basically makes another bubble you’re only way of countering it as Wells tend to be much easier to shut down via grenades. If the point spawned 10 points earlier (at 30) where basically nobody has a super or later (at 50) where some offensive supers can be available the mode would be way different. I do, however believe that Bastion Barricades need some adjustment still. If we’re talking about really OP stuff, I 100% agree that arc titans are way broken. I’d also say that Invis is still obnoxious to play against, 6-shooter Goldie needs a longer cooldown or shorter duration for PvP, and Warlock’s electric slide could use some looking at too.

Exactly, it's just a skill issue for the people crying about it. 👍
-
You are right, Bubble and Well, they do their job.
-
Interesting when people say "it's just the mode it's in" when GG got nerfed because of Mayhem. Bit I guess that's fine because it was a Hunter nerf right? Bubble should be a tier longer for cooldown on the super. And barricades shouldn't start recharging until the other one is gone. Fixes majority of Titan problems.
-
I just wish if I was able to get a tether inside the bubble, the bubble should pop when the Titan is tethered.
-
That’s true. Titan overshield spam. Citan spam. Enhanced storm nades. Cool-down on missile. All these will get nerfs before bubble.
-
Bubble is the fastest super to get .... Promote a passive play style with the entire void titan kit Your post was basically you being mad at others calling you a camper and someone that need a crutch to do anything But ok ....

Edited by Malenia, Blade of Miqullla: 1/6/2023 2:55:42 PMIn opposition to the bubble, why is Well of Radiance not as dominant in Zone based modes as Bubble? You'd think you'd see equally as many WellLocks in this game mode too considering it's super charge is also on par with bubble and offers you the unique advantage to be immune to stasis as well as the ability to shoot anyone around you before they can get close, but you don't. Why do you think that is?

Good post 👍🏼

The only realistic counters to Bubble are Heavy, One Two Punch, and Supers with a longer tiered cooldown. Heavy requires multiple people to have it and just requires you to have heavy in general which is pretty situational. Supers are good, but not all work and one of the sole counters to a super should not be another super. One Two Punch, is good, but fairly niche, and comes with its own set of risks. Every other counter listed either only works theoretically or only works on brain dead players. For all the name-calling on these forums, most players aren't that dumb. Let's look at other supers. The best comparison is probably Well. It has no Overshield anymore, so two people shooting one person safely with low TTK weapons will probably get a kill. An Aggressive Sniper (the best archetype) will one shot crit. Fusion Rifles are super effective. You can shoot the sword if you're out of other options and aren't pressed for time. Other roaming supers can be killed by smart movement and focused gunfire. Bubble is an extremely powerful Outlier that is, in fact, overpowered compared to other supers.

I don't complain about it, I find charging in and nova bombing them tremendous fun.
-
Yeah maybe if you’re playing 0.5s

Edited by meatballsublime: 1/7/2023 2:06:35 AMJust to test today, I shot a ghally rocket at a titan inside his bubble. I died from close proximity of the explosion... He was just tickled and sweeper emoted my corpse (rightfully so). Given he seemed perfectly fine, I don't buy "use any heavy" is a counter.

This is getting absolutely slayed in the Crucible subreddit, full of competent players, and rightly so.
-
The issue is less about the actual super, more the game mode. The fact that bubbles charge fastest, and the central zone comes out before other supers are generated to combat the bubble. Then if you do pop the bubble, another bubble is popped in its place. It is what it is, Im not hating. Just feels like they wanted the bubble to shine for once in PvP...
-
Sick post, try again later.
-
Yeah, all these people have been running around chaining roming supers, getting 7th column and stuff for 6 mo... now they are all pis*ed about a week long bubble meta 🙄

That's why i dont - old
I'm a Hunter main, and I think you're 100% right in everything you just said. Blade Barrage & Golden Gun, easily beats bubble -
A lot of this advice relies on the Titan using the Bubble to be currently huffing glue, and all of the advice that's "LOL just use your Super" glosses over how much faster Bubble comes up than other Supers Also, anyone who tells you Smoke Bomb is a legit counter to Bubble, probably shouldn't be taken seriously
-
All supers are oppressive and should not be in pvp at all. Why so defensive about bubble?
-
It’s too strong when objectives are involved there is rarely 1 titan in it…. Many supers are unlikely to be up when bubble is… It does need nerfing
-
Edited by WifeAggro_AFK: 1/6/2023 12:46:19 AMYour QP lobby experience is not indicative of players that actually know how to use their super....

Looks like it's written by a 0.5kd player. I too can kill a 0.5kd stationary titan inside a bubble. Good luck killing a competent one though. Always fun to be up 3:2 on showdown and than the game decides you need a sudden death round and titan pops a bubble for an easy win.

This right here!👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽

I don't blame titans in the slightest for spamming bubbles in IB it's exactly how Bungie designed it to be and as a matter of fact I too used the hell out of it when getting my titan set unlocked. I think the only reason people are frustrated is because if you wanted to you could completely ignore the normal zones the entire time as long as you hold the high priority zones when they spawn you will win. Dumbing an entire match down to two rounds of 30ish seconds of super spamming just isn't fun to most people I think
