Nova Warp super? More like Not Worth a pooper

See the 18 second video clip for an example, the balance is staggering. Both of these supers require reaching melee range distance for a OHKO on cast, both supers are roaming, both can teleport, and yet one has greater attack range, faster ttk for super attacks, greater damage resistance, and greater cast damage output.....and this is the same old story compared to most supers. I know Nova Warp initially launched too hot, but it's time to revive it from the depths of the nerf graveyard. Devour on KOs does not matter in its current state for pvp use because it is just too slow, deals too low damage, has too little range, and lasts for too little time. Please adjust it a little bit to keep up with the current sandbox. And as a sidenote, HandHeld SuperNova should be able OHKO, at minimum, while using Contraverse Hold or some other way of building into it. Peregrine Greaves enables titan shoulder charge OHKO, striker titan Knockout enables OHKO melees especially with Synthoceps, and hunter Weighted Throwing Knife already OHKOs on a crit PLUS refunds itself with zero exotic requirement, so don't waste time claiming it would not be fair when these things already exist in the other classes as MELEE options - not even requiring a grenade like for HHSN. Warlock currently has one OHKO ability in the form of Lightning Surge on Stormcaller, and that only works on players that are grouped up tightly - niche like Ballistic Slam team wipes. The point of course though, is that warlocks are behind the other classes in terms of OHKO abilities, and that ought to be remedied for better balance. I know there are plenty of things to be addressed. This is the topic I focused on for this post. Take your angry tangents about other stuff and make your own post.

      • Warps Cast Damage should be as strong as Nova Bombs Impact damage. Think about it, your releasing Explosive Void energy. It should be devastating. To balance that out, while Roaming, you don't lose Super Energy but have a timer, every Explosive outburst you do get weaker each time. So this can work two ways, Cast Super for max damage output then use like current and roam and keep bursting while getting weaker (the roaming is meant for Crowd control and red bars mainly) . Or, Cast Super and save one last Burst for a large group or elite enemy. Or just use it to TP around for Movement during the remaining time.

        • Don’t pop it close range unless the enemy is weak. The kill range on the activation blast is smaller than the initial. It also looks like you lost 100% because you both had the same idea. Nova warp beats trance 9x out of 10 otherwise. If you’re getting killed trying to activate too often, blink then activate and drop like a stone. Catches tons of people off guard in 6’s. Nova Warp (in my opinion) is top tier for 6’s. High mobility, fast kills on grouped opponents. Astrocyte just makes it a menace. As for HHSN, it definitely needs a buff along with chaos accelerant in general…

            • Yes crontraverse should allow hand helds to one shot. The chaos accelerant aspect should also provide 2 slots instead of 1 and overcharged void grenades should be dramatically buffed in pve. The nova warp has always needed faster charge time and longer duration, obviously it shouldn’t one shot supers in pvp or go through walls but everything else really does need a buff.

              • I remember one time when I was playing arc strider I popped my super and I heard a storm caller pop his around the corner. I proceeded to do two light melees at the wall followed up by the high damage heavy combo finisher at the corner. Killed him as soon as he was turning the corner. He had no time to react and that was my most satisfying arc strider super kill. This was way before light 3.0.

                • Nova warp main here. It is fine as is. It is a very potent super, but has a high learning curve compared to other supers.

You [i]can[/i] use it for that but it’s not really good for that. It’s better at team wiping.

                      • Bungie strips every good aspect out of each warlocks subclasses and gives them to hunters and titans or straight up deletes it from the game and give us very little to nothing in return on top of hunters and titans being able to.use.their gifted abilities better than warlocks ever could. Hunters and Titans get new supers and busted abilities like over shields in built DR while invisible and Bungie gives them OP exotics, while all warlocks get is a gimmick melee, gimmick exotic while titans get the best grenade in the game hands down. People want to wonder why warlock mains have been dropping their flags and joining hunters and titans. Warlocks have been asking for a blink buff for years but bungie doesn't buff it until they give it to hunters.

                              • Tbh, in this clip u pop nova warp right on him, and when cast, nova warp doesn’t cause damage when cast, but stormtrance does with landfall. If nova warp had been cast earlier then u would’ve won. But tbh I agree with you about pvp. It needs a complete rework, I hate it this season. So yes I do agree with you about how bad pvp is this season, but I also am just saying in this clip specifically you could’ve played better. I was at one point a top 200 trials player but unfortunately destiny doesn’t reward good players anymore 😢
