As of late i have found myself taking a step back and being a little bit more analytical when it comes to Destiny 2, Majority of the players I have played with in the past, don't want to play anymore due to a lack of structure from their point of view.
every season seems to be the same loop with a different currency we are chasing for what reason?
For a game that has amazing gunplay and focusses on the looter shooter fantasy, the game does not feel rewarding anymore at times. This is not a bash on Bungie post, its just my opinion on some things I have noticed. (not going to address the ruffian issue etc as there are already topics about that)
I have been playing the game a lot since the season started as I have some free time on my hands and I have noticed a couple of things that does not make any sense, and feels counter productive to the player.
the fact that some mechanics in the game won't start for some reason, whether you are in a team, or someone is loading in, it often results in either you having to -blam!- in game or just leaving and hoping to find another instance.
as for the abovementioned, why is your XP driven by a bounty system if you load players into instances where those bounties cannot be completed because the encounter / strike / playlist activity is about to be completed? If you want us to do bounties (kill x with a sniper in VANGUARD PLAYLIST etc) why do you not have the option for us as a player to load strikes as a solo player, as suppose to having bounties that cannot be completed due to strike modifiers promoting ability spam?
it would be nice if the bounties align on a daily basis with those modifiers, (just choose another bounty is an option but why must that be a plan B from the players side and not Plan A from the developer?)
for a multiplayer game that focusses most of its encounters around team play, your seasonal XP challenges negates this completely, as it promotes selfish gameplay in certain encounters (Ketchcrash for example) in order to extend the players time in the game by grinding for loot with the hopes of getting what they need as suppose to a clear path on getting what is required.
The red border / crafting / level 10 season weapons is a good example and the upcoming bounty is most likely going to be worse for next week.
I have completed a string of Ketchcrashes only to receive either a deepsight frame for a weapon I already own and have crafted or I receive a deepsight for something that goes straight into my Shards.
a way to fix the bounty issue is to have bounties count for the whole team, same with seasonal challenges.
as for the deepsight issue, - have a "focus" buff for that specific weapon when playing with that said weapon - you want a seasonal sidearm deepsight? play with a seasonal deepsight sidearm, or without limiting the player and dictating how they should play, how about a deepsight bounty for each frame you want to craft?
The general consensus of "yeah it will eventually happen the more hours I sink into it" have opened the door to the player base potentially becoming complacent. Lost sectors are a great example, - there are triumphs for completing lost sectors on master and solo yet no rewards that come with that? instead we are working with the "possibility of probability" being the clear driver of rewards in lost sectors. It is dispiriting running lost sectors run after run not getting an exotic that you want, or in some instances not even getting something at all, and in my experience a game should not dispirit its player base by using the "carrot and the stick" method.
fact is, a lot of the endgame materials, and rewards are locked behind content which is not as easily accessible to some players, as they require those said materials / certain gear etc to craft a weapon or masterwork their gear in order to do the very content they cannot complete due to the loop of artificial difficulty that can only be mitigated by seasonal artifact, and as for this season when it comes to quest director/bounty simulator we interact with, we are basically relying on previous seasons content to get us the loot we want, as there is no upgrade on the Star Chart that allows us to focus High Stat armor.
New season, play this activity, but you have to go and grind the other activities if you want high stat armor.
I understand some players cannot play as much as others and it they do not either have the time to play the game or teams to do so. This is not the games issue, this is on the user side, as most of us do have a life outside of gaming, and rely on gaming to be relaxing and rewarding when we do get to play it - time vs reward, yet what use is it to sink time into something if there is little to no reward to do so? one cannot always rely on RNG if Majority of your players are not being rewarded for their time they sink into a game they should be enjoying.

If you want to play solo just turn Crossplay off. Since Crossplay is forced in Destiny if you turn it off the game won’t put you in any lobbies. It will just start you up alone in Strikes or Dares. This only works for PVE of course cause if you turn Crossplay off Destiny won’t be able to find you a multiplayer match.
