Heya Bungie team. Destiny 2 was the perfect game for Stadia's platform. The mix of casual play laddering into more sweaty pursuits has been awesome for the last couple of years for a dad gamer like me who didn't want to invest a bunch of money and space in his home for gaming hardware and I'm glad to hear Bungie's experiences with the platform have been rewarding as well. It is heartening to hear that you're working to find resources to support those who are losing this platform.
When thinking about transition planning, I'd like to encourage you to consider the platforms that are able lean towards some of those benefits: lower space, lower cost. For myself, I'm looking at a Steam Deck, as, with Windows installed, it will play D2 in a portable package with a lower cost than a gaming tower or console and investment in the PC space offers some future-proofing over lower-cost consoles. I had considered the PS5 but supply issues, subscription costs, and entertainment center real estate all work strongly against that option.
Of course, a significant number of Stadia players had it as a second platform, and they'll still be able to use their primary platform, meaning there are even fewer of us who are losing our main way to play. My 1300 hours on Stadia, through my Chromecast, have all been great (even the weekend I was grinding out Sola's Scar before it went away, being the PvP donkey that I am).
My blue sky, besides white labeling Stadia and allowing it to play via Chromecast, browser, and mobile, would be to be able to play on an unmodified Steam Deck. My little Linux-loving heart is warmed by the idea. This would significantly reduce the barrier to entry for that hardware. I'm hoping that the refunds will allow me to quickly re-purchase the expansions and I can join you all on Neomuna with my full kit come release!
