So I’m not a fan of the Siv nerf but the reason why I take issue with it is the logic for it. The reason we were given was that they wanted us to use tractor canon or tether, but the problem is needing div doesn’t make those any better. They end up still being bad options just not as bad as div. Which is sort of messed up because if you wanted those other things to be viable making div trash isn’t in the interest of the player. Instead tractor canon and tether should have been buffed, the reasons why div was being used over them addressed. Instead of asking how can we make tether good enough to compete with divinity the question was how can we harm divinity so tether is a better option than it.
I also have an issue with the fact that this means now two players in a raid team don’t have a voice about their subclass. Either a titan or warlock need to be on bubble or well and a hunter is going to be relegated to playing a single subclass again. I feel like player choice when it comes to subclass is something that should be promoted, not limited.

5 RepliesI would argue the logic given is perfectly reasonable. Divinity is easy to use, can be applied from a distance, and has very high uptime especially if you throw on something like Special Finisher. There's no reason it should have as strong a debuff as a super or a heavy weapon that requires you to get very close to the target to apply it. Lower risk/cost should equal lower reward. Besides, outside of master content or higher, there are very few instances where you need divinity for the debuff, usually it's the giant crit spot that really matters.
