Hello. We just learned about Stadia shutting down and have begun conversations about next steps for our players. We will announce and send out information regarding Destiny 2 Stadia accounts once we have a plan of action.
For general questions about Stadia's shutdown, please review their FAQ: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/12790109
EDIT: Once we have information to share, we will include it in our TWAB blog posts, emails, tweets, and in-game announcements.

I've posted a question on whether using Google "Takeout" export of Stadia data https://takeout.google.com/. It contains user/ game data stored in JSON files. Game data includes Game data, Game Saves, User Achievements, User Captures, and User Gamer Stats. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/261898897?sort=0&page=0

I have invested so much money in all the add on content, even pre-ordered the next season on Stadia! I hope you guys are able to come up with a solution for this.
-
You should be able to receive a refund for your purchases according to their FAQ: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/12790109 You'll need to contact Stadia support about any refunds.

Already purchased an Xbox Series X for when Stadia will be shutting down next year. Having the option to transfer our data to the platform of our choice would be awesome! Not a PC gamer here. Thanks a lot Bungie <3
-
Please just give us a way to transfer all to another platform. I'll probably go to steam.
-
How do we get notified with updates on this?

Once we have something to share we will include it in our TWAB blog posts, emails, tweets, and in-game announcements.

I hope I can cross save the character I created on Stadia to Xbox. I just can't start the grind all over again. I can repurchase DLC's, that is understandable. I can also give up Silver. What I can't do is start the grind all over again. I've put in 2100+ hours. I know we can cross save, but only from the platform we primarly created the characters on. Please allow us to change primary platforms. Thanks.
-
There will be a way to transfer you're characters, my character's were made on battle.net (which no longer has Destiny on it and you can no longer use your battle.net account to login anymore). All of my DLC on battle.net was transferred over to steam right before shadowkeep launched (including DLC that doesn't exist anymore).

Hey bungie, i just read that stadia's dead, and i have made so many memories and had so much fun playing destiny on stadia. I'm a 13 year old superfan of your game, but i dont have a console or pc t oplay d2 on, stadia was my only hope. man, im screwed.
-
You could try out Geforce Now.
-
The way it looks right now (I'm in the same boat) you can cross save to Steam but it appears you have to purchase all the expansions again, the licenses do not transfer. Makes me wonder what happens to bank and inventory (materials etc,)
-
The only thing that doesn't transfer between platforms with cross save is dlc's and silver. Character's, Inventory, Vault, and Season Pass's transfer between platforms. You should be getting a refund from google so you'll be able to rebuy your dlc's again on another platform.

U have to repurchase but U also get refund

I'd like to know what my options are as well, I'm playing on Stadia, but might need to get a console. can i get destiny 2 + expansions on xbox or not? i've been seeing confliction information.
-
Hi there! Can you please clarify on your question?
-
I mean, i just checked that Xbox had removed destiny 2 from their catalogue. If i need to get a console, getting a PS5 is next to impossible at the moment. 😬
-
It was removed from gamepass but not from been able to purchase.
-
Hi there! Destiny 2 has not been removed from the store platform. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/destiny-2#purchaseoptions
-
Oh! This is helpful. Thanks. 😃
-
What about unspent Silver balances - I have quite a bit I was saving for next year, I don't want to rush to spend it now....
-
Edited by Canadia: 10/1/2022 2:41:14 AMThey will figure something out, this isn't the first time a platform you could play the game on has disappeared. All of the dlc I owned (including ones that weren't for sale at the time were transferred) were transferred from battle.net to steam back when shadowkeep came out. My silver also transferred.
-
Where would I look for the official announcement for the solution to this?
-
Once we have something to share we will include it in our TWAB blog posts, emails, tweets, and in-game announcements.
-
When bungie announces a plan it should be mentioned in their twab and most likely emails.
