Poorly Designed Armor Sets and Shaders

I understand this is entirely subjective but I really need to get this off my chest: D2 armor sets and shaders have been designed so terribly and I think its done intentionally but I have no proof nor idea as to why, but its happened so often its hard to think its a coincidence anymore. As a D1 vet, those armor sets were sleek, symmetrical and fit the aesthetic of destiny perfectly. Maybe not all the D1 sets, but most of them 100% outshine most of the d2 sets. For example, look at this seasons trials armor or this seasons ketch crash armor. How about last seasons solstice armor? Its honestly baffling and I really dont know what is bungies design teams deal with asymmetrical armor or armor that just has too much greebling on it. I was ok with the deep stone crypt sets but it seems they've gone on to put anything anywhere just because. This is not to say all d2 armor sets are hideous but a surprisingly large amount of them are and I dont have any incentive to play seasonal activities like crucible, strikes, gambit, if the armor I'm getting is intentionally designed to look like a dumpster fire with arms and legs. Where D1 armor sets were uniform and repetitive, D2 sets are chaotic, asymmetrical and a pain to use shader with. To make my titan look a certain way, I have to first pick out arnor that dosent my my titan look fat or like a big ball, (god forbid I dont have sythweeve available) then I have to look through tons of shaders, with colors that you do not see on its icon, to find ones that dont completely ruin the overall aesthetic with the surprise colors that, very usually, throw off everything. It takes hours to find the right look I'm going for; and if the look I'm going for isnt possible because of how terribly the shaders are, then I've just wasted my time. The D1 armor sets imported to D2 are by far the best looking compared to this seasons ketch crash set. Going back to shaders I dont understand why bungie gives shaders that have a very promising icon but when applied to armor, have secret surprise colors. A good example is the Vow of The Disciple flawless raid shader and the new Kingsfall flawless shader. For the Vow one: it looks like a nice black and white shader but once applied reveals a light blueish purple that was not on the icon. I will not flawlessly complete Vow, because there is no insensitive to do so. The Kingfall flawless shader, I expected, to be the malevolence shader from back in D1. Beautiful oily black with lovey maroon. And bungie decided itd be really cool to replace that with a vanguard shader locked behind by a flawless completion. I will not be flawlessly competing Kingsfall, because there is no insensitive to do so. D2 raid shaders peaked with the Leviathan raids, Scourge of The Past, Garden of Salvation and Vault of Glass, discounting the eververse shaders because they had to be bought. D1 shaders were not perfect, far from it (best one was the All-Black shader). As a matter of fact, some D1 shaders had the same issue, whereas a lot of D2 has this problem, likely an effect of this issue going on for too long. But to give credit where its due, bungie has improved on shader placement and distribution tenfold; which is why I think shaders, in of themselves, need an update too. Its really annoying to grind hours upon hours for a flawless raid only to get a shader that only looks good on certain weapons. Please stop making shaders like this. Its really frustrating when a new raid or seasonal activity comes out and the shader has a secret hidden extra color that ruins everything / amor that looks -blam!-. The Garden of Salvation is the worse offender of this because its just and year 1 eververse armor set covered in ash and dirt. The Vow of The Disciple armor set, while the moving parts are really interesting and Id love to see more experimentation with it, looks overal mismatched and uneven. Its symmetry is asymmetrical and it bothers me so much. Also, armor for titan. Also the opulent armor set: if you ever does decide to reintroduce more D1 armor sets, please dont add greebling to it like in the opulent sets. It takes up far too much space and it looks ugly with certain shaders, but since its one of the olny D1 armor sets I have to use it over the -blam!- D2 sets. Also please stop making titan armor look so fat. Ive seen the concept art and the armor sets for the most part look lovely and form fitting. why is it, when transitioning into the game, it bloats up? This goes for male and female titans but mostly male. All my characters on D2 are female because I despise how certain armor sets look on the male figures. Back in D1 I have a male titan and hunter and 1 female warlock (male warlocks look like they dont have necks and always look like they're trying to puff up their shoulders and chest). Please stop making male armor look puffy and bulky, seriously its crazy how D1 did this much better. Also, some armor sets have weird interactions with shaders, which usually wouldn't be a problem but since of the surprise color no one wanted, instead of being a minor inconvenience, it takes up most of the armor and ruins the look entirely. Armor and shader collecting is one of my favorite things to do in D2 and its a big part of the game. Every season theres a new armor set to complete and new shaders to chase but if they dont look good at all or interact well, then theres no reason for me to chase or complete. Like the deepsight shaders look atrocious. When I first heard that mementos offered a shader for the playlist activity it was earned in, I thought we'd see the adpet nighfall shader (the one seen on palindrome, swarm etc) but no, it was an ugly blue and orange shader with the letter v. Same for trials. for gambit, I really expected nothing less so I dont really feel any which way about it. But its still really disappointing. My time is not valued even though I am doing the things that should, in theory, reward for my time. Why the hell would I ever want to flawless Kingsfall? Vow? At lease Grasp of Avarice had a shader with the flawless but what about Duality? Theres no reason other than bragging rights but bragging can only get me so far. Please stop (intentionally) making bad looking armor sets (or import some of the old D1 ones, youve done it before) and please test how shaders will interact with armor sets. Also make a kiosk for old raid shaders that are in the DCV. This is framed as a demand but its more of suggestion and I'm just upset my effort isnt rewarded.

  • A wall of text is something that is frowned upon in most, actually virtually all Internet societies, including forums, chat boards, and Uncyclopedia. You should not make walls of text because it can get you banned anywhere unless it is a place that encourages walls of text. I highly doubt any place does support something so irritating and annoying, but anything can exist, but not really because unless you are in heaven then that can happen. But no one actually knows that was just a hypothesis, a lame one that is. Actually not really lame. You can create a wall of text supporting site, but you would be hated if you do that, so do not. But you can if you like, but I discourage that. Now on to the actual information of walls of texts. The wall of text was invented when the Internet was invented, but actually it was slow at that time. So whenever it became fast. But there would need to be some free or not free community for people, and that community would be able to have walls of text. But that community probably wouldn't have actually invented the wall of text. So basically, no one except God and Al Gore knows when or where or how the wall of text existed/was invented. Noobs probably invented, but probably not. Who knows. Walls of texts are usually filled with a lot of useless information and junk. Information and junk can be the same, but only if the information is junk or the junk is information. But who cares. The information/junk inside a wall of text are usually related to wherever the wall of text is located, but the best walls of text, which are actually the most irritating, most eye-bleeding ones, are completely random. Walls of text usually make the reader asplode or have their eyes bleed and fall out of their sockets. A number of people can stand it, but not read them. Actually some people can stand and read them. Those people do not have short attention spans. These are boring and patient people who have no life or have all the time in their hands, which are the same, but not really. The punishment of what making walls of text varies of the strictness of the community. But it doesn't really matter. Nobody cares. Walls of texts should be free of links, different font colors, strange characters, which are those other symbols used in society, and capital letters because it ruins the whole purpose of the infamy of walls of texts. It makes them look -blam!- dumb and weird. Walls of texts are obviously free of huge spaces and outstanding things like capital letters. Of course, paragraphs should never be in a wall of text. Walls of text are known to create nausea, confusion, head explosion, and others. The others being something I can not think of either because I am lazy or if I do not feel like it or I can not actually think of anything. Like what the -blam!-? That was a rhetorical question right there. What the -blam!-? You are actually not requesting a satisfactory answer, you just say that because you try to be funny or you feel like it or if you are pissed off. You must get a proper -blam!--slapping to stop making walls of text, but if you are weird then that doesn't apply to you. Walls of text are defeated by deleting them or splitting them into paragraphs. But who cares. People are considered a nuisance if they create walls of text. This might be the end. If you hope this is the end, I am not sure. But if I was not sure then I wouldn't be talking. I should know.
