I am a Destiny player. I joined during season 10, and have played ever since. Having gotten over thousands of hours on the game, I too, had my fair share of addiction to the game.
So it was no surprise that I'd try to get my friends on the game, as the thought of playing with them was really good.
They did eventually install the game, ran through the basics, and joined up near the end of season 14.
Sadly, this did not last like I had hoped. They left permanently shortly after 30th anniversary came out.
Their main reason for leaving was a lack of involvement in the story. They both hated that they could not play the vanilla campaign, nor the two year one expansions that followed.
The second reason was FOMO, which we all know and dislike.
I really hope Bungie brings them back with Lightfall, as I really miss playing with my friends. The hours I had spent on the game with them, were among my favorites out of the many that I have.
My hope of them bringing that stuff back, due to the mention of them no longer sunsetting campaigns, may fall on deaf ears when it comes to any developer. But I think a good chunk of people have had something similar to this happen
