Sbmm, which is supposed to try to find fair matches, simply doesn’t work in trials. There is a simple metric to look at that highlights it’s insufficiency; match win probably and match outcome. My team and I played 14 matches before deciding to do something else and I’m that time, according to the destinytracker website, 10 of those matches were essentially decided before they even began. What I mean is the site predicted the outcome of 10 of those matches with a probability of one side winning of over 80% (I.e. 70% of matches, one side had very little chance of winning). Sbmm is supposed to find fair matches and, while I’m not saying ALL matches should be guaranteed to be even, it’s clear sbmm as it is implemented in trials does not actually balance any team. The worst my team faces was one match has a 97% chance of us losing. We are all 1.5 or below KD and fought 2 people with a KD (not KDA) above 4.0. What made it even worse was mid-match, one of them dm’d me telling me to stay out of trials and go back to raiding. If this kind of situation doesn’t exemplify the problem, I don’t know what will
