I’ve currently fully crafted 3 weapons, only 1 of which comes into normal weekly use. None of the other weapons in my vault have been power crept. Sure once you craft a weapon all drops of it after ward become useless, but the same thing happens once you get your god roll anyway.
Craftable weapons and their enhanced perks do not provide that much of an advantage anyway. I bet that my crafted enhanced FTTC Focused fury cataclysmic would be doing around the same amount of damage as a normal one that isn’t crafted.
Personally, I value the adept mods and their bonuses way more than any enhanced perk. Plus I don’t have to play with an inferior version of the weapon for about 1000 kills in order to get to the enhanced perks.
There are distinct advantages to both craftable and adept weapons over the normal drop weapons, however getting something like a normal drop Drang for me was way easier than spending the time to try and craft the thing, again because the advantages for the craftable version are not distinctly head and shoulders better than a normal one.
Anyway I’m done yelling to the void about my gripes with the community. Hope this starts a sane and rational discussion.

I'm taking one crafted weapon that i can reshape at any time, over mindlèsly running one same activity over and over, hoping the weapon will actualy drop, let alone with my preferred roll.

I feel like its more of a vanity thing than anything, and is a sort of bad luck protection. I do think the conflict, specifically for raid weapons, of "should I try to get the adept or should I craft the normal one, which is better" to which the answer is "it depends on the gun and perks but ultimately the difference is unbelievably small either way" is very very lame. It comes down to which one is easier to get, and the answer is, for most people, the crafted ones. This leaves even the hardest core players with no reason at all to do master raids, which sucks. Should you be able to craft adept weapons? No I definitely dont think so, they would power creep out of control and NO ONE would have them anyway. What I think should happen is adepts should just drop with enhanced perks. That would be some incentive to do master raids for the loot. -
All the YouTubers I watch seem to have different versions of what their God roll is anyway.

Removes the rng element and is strictly better than a random roll anyways.

They're very satisfying.

I would say there is a purpose to crafting as it's a guaranteed God roll of what you want. However the problem is most weapons have 2-3 God rolls and the time investment, as well as materials, required is way too high for just 1 let alone 2-3. Not too mention in the time it takes to get a blueprint you'll probably get 1 or all 3 rolls from RNG drops Enhanced perks do feel weak and should get a noticeable buff given the cost to unlock. At the moment only like 4-5 enhanced perks actually feel worth the cost. I do agree that adept weapons and mods feel stronger than enhanced crafted weapons. Maybe if they let us use adept mods on fully enhanced weapons, I could see the benefit being greater than the cost, but for now it's not worth it.

I like it when small number go up. I like it when big number get bigger.

1 ReplyBecause some of them with enhanced perks are actually good. There's a reason people crafted piece of mind when it was released. Also it's not just because some crafted weapons with enhanced perks are good but it gives you the choice to select the perks you actually want. If someone has bad luck getting a normal weapon with trash perks they have the other route of grinding to craft them. Once you craft a certain weapon with certain enhanced perks it's actually a game changer in some aspects of the game.

Tbh, it depends. For normal weapons that don't have adept versions, crafting is awesome. Also, crafting is nice since it reduces RNG. Turning in hundreds of spoils which are hard to come across for a specific adept is much harder than crafting your 10/10 with slightly better perks.
