My account is being hacked and all of my items and characters are gone. I don't know how they have access to my account and i haven't received any emails about suspicious activity. I have changed my passwords on all my accounts and asked forums and bungie multiple times for help but so far nothing has worked and they still have access. I have spent 95 days on this game on xbox alone and all of my progress is just gone. If nothing can be recovered then i at least want to get this person off of my account. I have been dealing with this for over a week and i just want to get it fixed.

Edited by ADragonWithin: 9/22/2022 2:09:59 PMIn order to disable Cross-Save, you must be able to authenticate to each account, just as the Bungie.net profile had to do to enable Cross-Save. In order to unlink an account, you must be able to authenticate to an account just like your Bungie.net profile had to do to add it. Authentication proves ownership and access, and if you can't authenticate, then you have no ability to make changes that require that proof of ownership. To put it into perspective of why authentication is important: How does Bungie know that you're not actually someone that gained access to one or more of the accounts and the account you're trying to get rid of is actually the true original account holder? This is the issue you're running into, and why the security requirement of authentication is in place. Please make sure you have changed the login credentials of each platform connected to your Bungie.net profile, as one or more of them had to be authenticated to in order to add the other account. If one or more of the accounts linked to your Bungie.net profile are not yours and you cannot authenticated to them, then your Bungie.net profile will not be able to make the changes mentioned above for those accounts. As such, if you've been compromised, you should consider your save data completely compromised, as whoever the other person is can (and apparently is willing to) make changes to mess with you and ruin your enjoyment of the game. Bungie will not forcefully disable Cross-Save or unlink an account if you cannot fulfill the authentication requirements that are part of the security systems in place. As I mentioned at the start, your Bungie.net profile enabled Cross-Save and added an account by authentication, and to reverse it, authentication is still required. If you cannot authenticate to disable Cross-Save, then your Cross-Save will remain as-is. Unfortunately, due to the above and the policy on security and the authentication requirements, if you no longer have full control over your save data, your best bet is to move on and consider it completely forfeit, since the other person/people that have access can make changes anytime they want, just like you can, and it will remain as such. Your only alternative is to try and contact the platform company to gain access to the account, but it's unlikely that the platform company will grant it, since you cannot prove you own the account.
