Does Variks canonically have a speech impediment?

Spider speaks normal Eido speaks normal Mithrax speaks normal Variks clicks his tongue and speaks strange. Why does Variks sound so weird? Any lore nerds care to explain this?

My initial assumption was that Misraaks et al used some sort of voice changer/instant translator where as Variks spoke our dialect organically, learning through extended contact with the inhabitants of the reef. There definitely has been mention of a voice changer before but I can’t remember where. Spider also comments that Variks intentionally augments his voice to sound less fluent - this is a nice touch and one that happens irl; in Japan for example, there is a well known distrust/uneasiness when foreigners speak Japanese fluently. In fact, you could absolutely butcher just about any Japanese phrase and be met with a chirpy “your Japanese is very good” but if your Japanese is truly authentic, you will get something to the nature of “where did you learn Japanese?” in a much more suspicious tone. The real answer is probably that the above reasoning is likely a retcon and they simply didn’t intend to include so many Eliksni allies, intending Variks to be the only capable of human speech. If I remember correctly, Taniks and Skolas just made noises and Variks translates for us, this would have been way too irritating to listen to in direct conversation with allies.
