Dear Bungie,
I’m writing to you out of deep frustration after seeing that I’m supposed to find the time to kill 50 champions *just so I can make minimal progress on the weekly quest*. I’m not a big video game player. I only buy your game for the story. I don’t care about any of the extraneous activities, and I think it’s wonderful that more time consuming activities are available to players *who have the time and inclination to pursue them*. I have neither.
I don’t want to hear comments about some Master Ketchcrash activity. I don’t want to be told that I need to download *yet another stupid app on my phone* just so I can do the basic story quest. I don’t appreciate it and I don’t want to hear it. Save nonsense like this for people who have hours to dump into the game each week. As it is, I almost certainly won’t finish this this week, and I’ve already lost the chief pleasure I get on Tuesdays. I really look forward to the story progression and now I don’t know when I’m going to find the time to do this.
It’s perfectly fair for you to say that I’m just not your fanbase. Maybe the overwhelming majority of players demand a minimum 4 hour time commitment a week. But if that’s the case I won’t be able to continue playing.
Thank you for your time.

Hmm, don't you know? You are supposed to play like everyone else that knows better than you on how/what you like to play. Gating story content whether the requirements to progress are easy or not is just dumb. It's just more added BS from Bungie because of how lazy they have become, and that the lame padded playtime in this game is out of control that has piled up since Activision left and keeps getting worse.

4 RepliesNot to be that guy but im pretty sure its based off percentage depending on where you kill the champ. Like master KC can get it done in a single run but I did a few expiditions the other day killed 9 or 10 champs and it was done. Not sure how but it was. I killed 3 of them in the expedition and it covered 10 percent of the bar. They say 50 but they don't MEAN 50 individual champs. Even then you can do heroic nightfalls, get some loot, and also get the job done, Idek how many champs i even killed, I just popped onto the game today and i was able to progress. Even so I wish you luck on your progress, but honestly I can agree when somebody says that bungie needs to shake up the story missions.
-
That was definitely a head scratcher when I saw it. I had to do a double take. 50?? Seemed a bit steep for a weekly story mission. I could see that requirement in higher level activities. Not to progress the story.
-
It was poorly done. For story content, that number is dumb. That quest step was more like a seasonal challenge.

1 ReplyEdited by FenCis76: 9/22/2022 12:17:22 AMRespectfully agree with your opinion and thank you for voicing it. I have all the time in the world and I cannot bring myself to play as I have in the past. I feel Bungie is really pushing their boundaries and testing our patience in what we will put up with, so that no creativity or effort will be put into seasonal content and they maximize profits off of boring run of the mill junk they are spitting out lately. Expect more of the same this season and I expect next season will be more convoluted, further thinning the herd of players and conditioning those who stick around, to put up with more for less.

1 ReplyBungie screwed up by making the progress bar 0/50. In actuality, each Champion killed granted a percentage based on difficulty of an activity. The progress bar should have said 0%. And as it was a weekly story mission (which most people wanna do in about half an hour), the bar should have been 5 or 10 Champions.

14 RepliesAs someone who can do this easily, I still agree with this argument. Master content is not for everyone. And 50 champions for story progression is fking ludicrous. Gating STORY content? Wtf? This ain't it.

Edited by CUROCH: 9/23/2022 5:52:49 AMOh know let me rush to the forums and complain about something you could of done in ten minutes. Typical destiny player.
-
You had to do 5 hero nightfalls. If that's too hard for you then pick up another game(Go fish perhaps).
-
It takes 1 Master ketch to complete it.
-
2 RepliesYou need to invest time in destiny. I’m not saying that’s a good thing but it’s a given. Rarely can you accomplish quests quickly. There are shortcuts but they still take effort. Master ketchcrash is one shortcut but you still need to raise your light level. The majority of players won’t have s problem with Champions as they are everywhere. Nightfalls etc.
-
I did the quesr without even knowing i did it i just played the game and i was like hm nice quest completed 🤣
-
If you're "not a big video game player", Destiny is definitely not the game for you. This is a grind heavy, looter shooter that needs hundreds of hours of investment to play the game as intended. If you're just another casual, there are other games out there that may better suit your play style, and lack of desire to grind.

2 RepliesHoly hell you clowns will cry about anything. Took me 15 mins to complete this. You’re soft. And bungie is soft for caving in so quick.
-
2 Repliesok just get 49 :)

I am curious on what you expected out of a MMORPG adjacent game would be like when you go into Destiny. It is a game that requires time for everything from gearing up to progressing, along with team work to do so in some aspects. I'm fairly new myself, maybe a month in, yet cleared everything no problem without "actively" coordinating with people outside of Raids (yet to do em). Just would join in a group that posted LFG or a clan member, slap on a mod or two needed, and didn't even have to communicate with people. It sucks that some things are tedious, but really that is kind of the standard for games that cross into this style of overall play. It isn't meant to be s-u-p-e-r casual by any means and there is plenty of proof that it comes across as a game that requires time. I personally held off on getting this game for a good long while due to me being unsure if I wanted to sink time into this, since it was obvious it required that. Also as others pointed out, along with me stating it earlier, you can knock it out rather quickly without coordinating with people via words/typing in various different ways.
-
5 RepliesMaster grants bonus progress....I did one master run and knocked it out...what's the problem?
-
4 Replieslol look at the entitlement of this guy/girl who knows it’s 2022 to think they have the right to tell the people who make the game how to do it. if u don’t like how they making the game go play something els. O ya i didn’t read your post only title that was enough for me to know the rest will just be u whining and trying to defend your entitlement.
-
Try doing it on normal difficulty and if you go on fireteams you can find help people who will carry you if you want
-
The famous sentence can be applied here: Just play a different game.
-
I can help you speedrun it if you want
-
17 RepliesImagine crying that you have to play a 10 minutes activity.
-
7 RepliesI wonder how long it took you to type up this sob story versus you looking up a fireteam on bungie’s website and gotten carried in a master Ketchcrash and it would of been completed in less than 15 minutes and yet you’re on the forums still complaining with others about how you don’t have enough time to play but you have enough time to comment back to others. Hmmm 🤔
