Champions needs to get out of raids

Hello, I've experienced the whole king's fall raid in master difficulty and as I expected this is disgusting. The amount of champions and shields popping in every encounters is ridiculous, like vow and vog master, there is no interest to suffer for just completing a seal, and adept weapons have no interest since we have crafting. Being forced to use weapons that can deal with the right elemental shield or champions is not fun and will never be. I'm okay to atleast accept those conditions in nightfall Playlist, but dammit bungie, when will you see that players have enough of your champions and the strong shield modifier in raids? Why don't you just take the old good format we had back in D2 vanilla ( Calus raid) even d1? I don't think it takes you a lot of effort to just re-work the mechanics in hard mode, Since you've recycled old lost sectors for this season. I hope you will make the good choice for lightfall and do something about this major problem. I really like king's fall but not in master difficulty Ps : you really missed an opportunity to put the others king's fall shaders, age of triumphs armor and the remaining weapons.

The hardest difficulty of the raid doesn’t need to be made easier.

      I agree, as a fellow strike player i hate to go against a yellow bar dreg in strikes, i feel like they are way too over power. pls let bungie know to nerf dregs and too buff champions. ty

      • Abolish champions in raids and just award an Adept version to the player through completing the “challenge “ of that particular encounter. A flawless raid clear should automatically grant the player with the raid exotic-in reality a raid exotic should always be Quest driven not the rubbish 1% drop chance

        • The barrier,overlord,unstoppable nonsense keeps me from having any interest in the end game pVe content. If I can’t use “my weapons” you’ve made a mistake with your game. I would rather insane bullet sponges than the current model. Imagine playing Elden Ring and having to change your weapons throughout different sections of the dungeon? lol it’s nonsense.

          DOOM music kicks in - old

          Honestly it’s a good choice by bungo. Although adding newer, harder mechanics would be fun, they need to limit power creep as much as possible in order to preserve some sort of difficulty, and a way of doing that is limiting the meta with seasonal mods, forcing players to use things previously considered obsolete to overcome champs and shields.

          • Genuinely tired of casual players trying to ruin endgame. Masters already feels pointless as is, now you want to remove some changes cause your team is struggling to adapt.

            • Why not go one further and remove them from the game. I don't think many players would miss them based on the feedback I've been receiving (in game).

            • Get the unstoppable Ogre out of Totems in KF. It's buggy as -blam!- (if you shoot it before its feet are fully planted) and feels really out of place being the only champ in the entire raid. I get that the people depositing the Deathsinger's power need somethign else to do but that Ogre isn't it.

            • It’s ok that there’s content in the game that’s currently out of reach for some players based on gear availability, and skill level. I want content that pushes me.

            • I think champions are fine as is but having Match Game on top is a bit much and does heavily limit what you can use. I think they should have one or the other in endgame content.

              It’s hard to put harder mechanics in good faith when people can’t throw the ball in the corrupted strike at their teammates.[spoiler]IMO just make master mode contest but like 5 power levels higher[/spoiler]

            • Back in my day. Leviathan master had different ways to do encounters instead of more enemies and champions.

              nah, need more convoluted dumb mechanics to make the game harder, the bungie way, nothing can be just enjoyable and mildy challenging, need a degree to cypher glyps and puzzles

            • I wouldn’t mind literally having hard mode not have revives as the only difference like d1. But I’m pretty sure the casual player base would drop like flies bc of the inability to stay alive

            • The Problem with putting new loot is it gatekeeps a lot of players. In D 1 raids on hard mode were easy and do able with different t loot. Still a challenge but anyone could do it. Now you have champion raids with tanky red bars and practically invincible yellow bars. And you have to run the most meta well dec mod builds or your scrwed. Yes it’s endgame but it’s difficulty is extremely artificial and is to “hard” to be done slot of times. In d1 hard mode would limit the res and normal you could have infinite res. Idk to me the only good master content is strikes. Cause there’s alot more you can use.

            • So, what do you propose that's better? You don't like Champions or extra shields with match game active. It's well-established that they won't be making changes to mechanics for separate difficulty levels. All that's left is the level of the enemies, which is a nonfactor for players with a realistic ambition of playing a Master-tier Raid.

              • I would prefer more innovative enemies like they’d normally do with raids, though I do enjoy the addition of champions. VoG D1 had legionnaires (fanatics) Crota’s end had swordbearers ( I guess? Maybe not good example) Kings fall D1 had the adepts ( can’t remember name) acolytes that triggered surrounding acolytes to have ogre beams Wrath of the machine had just the scorch cannon guys nothing much there Then on to D2 Leviathan didn’t really introduce new enemy types, had the big doggos I guess Eater of worlds brought nothing new to the table regarding enemy types Spire of stars again nothing new Scourge of the past had berserker captains, now these guys were my favourite addition ( although fond memories of shooting adept acolytes first ) I love their mechanics of the front and back crit to take shield down Garden of salvation again not really any new enemy types Vow of the disciple again no new enemy types

                • Master raids need to be more rewarding. Slapping (adept) and some slight stats extra stats when masterworked means absolutely nothing when you can craft them normally and get a stat bonus at level 30. Adepts need something more. Enhanced origin trait, access to additional perk combinations, SOMETHING. I ran a single master encounter in vog for fatebringer and dipped.

                    • I don't really like the idea of champions anymore. It used to be that you had very limited options when dealing with them and now every weapon under the sun can deal with them. They had a purpose and now they are just annoying.

                      • This master raid in a word is “ridiculous “. Another stupid mode for the YouTube minions to make more money. I was part of the boycott for the first d2 dlc’s. Not only for the all the recycled bs they did. Also because the hard mode for the first raid was again ridiculous. With no reason to do it, with no real rewards for it. I game to have fun. But these devs want to piss everybody off. With this childish nonsense. Check your stats bungholes nobody will do this and hopefully finally move on with something else. That would be fun instead of this…
