Pinnacles that land in places you don't need them. Or they drop but their light level is lower than the item in that slot
Red border weapon drop rates to unlock patterns are far too low.
This stuff doesn't keep me coming back, it makes me put the game down.
The RNG and grind in this game is out of control and needs to be dialed back.
Play a lot? You should advance faster.
Play a little you should advance slower.
But you should still make progress.
Please increase the drop rate of red border weapons and either make light level progress purely XP based or add drop protection.

[/quote] It’s actually the other way around. Bungie’s RNG dates from the 2000s, and is designed to normally distribute rewards on a time horizon that is a function of your gaming profile. So the more you play, the more the RNG will “delay” rewards. The less you play, the more the game is going to incentivize you to play more by rewarding you with top drops. Anyone who has enough experience helping others, especially very casual players, knows this is a fact. The problem with that rational is that it eventually takes away the genuine desire many players have to helping others. This gambling RNG Bungie put in place definitely helped the game grow in the first years, but is now weighing on the attitude of the community overall. Spending 4h helping new players complete a raid, to see them loot 5 red border raid weapons + the exotic, when the people helping are getting only armor, is definitely not inclusive nor helping the mental health of kind players.
