I’ve been begging randoms in expeditions to wait for them and they speed up on purpose so I miss them every time like they enjoy it. I want the new title I shouldn’t have to fight toxic players to complete it.

Blame bungie for the design of this activity

1 ReplyThrow the treasure engrams as far away from the objective as possible. Your blueberries will spend so much time chasing engrams that the Ruffians will actually have a chance to spawn! I hate that this is a solution.

1 ReplyHonestly what Bungie should have done here, much like the jammer stops your expedition and escorting stops you throwing treasure at the haul, a ruffian appearing should stop the haul accepting more treasure. It makes sense. A ruffian is coming to steal your haul! Why would you throw more treasure at it, and give him a better target to plunder? No, you'd stop and kill him before he could first before stashing more loot. Gameplay wise, that means everyone would have to stop throwing loot and actually focus on the champ to proceed.

1 ReplyI hate dealing with the Ruffians because they seem so pointless with how its set up. If they were paying attention, Bungie would know how bad this playerbase is and be able to foresee problems like this and go "Maybe we shouldn't tie those to player actions". Maybe I'm expecting too much of them, but it seems like it was an obvious problem that could have easily been caught in thorough testing. In 99% of my expeditions, the Ruffian spawns and is despawned what seems like damn near immediately. Its absolute nonsense.

2 RepliesRecently the timer in the corner us disappeared.

Not sure if you know this, but on PS you can adjust your console clock to block matchmaking.
-
4 RepliesThey have changed it already. Now I get 1-2 ruffians each time. Used to be zero

If they rush and de-spawn them then I just go up to the finish and troll by emoting out of range of fire and watching netflix/youtube until the chests appear. In reality its just a painful lack of playtesting, care and -blam!- design on Bungies part.

Just change date on your PlayStation (days and years). You can do it solo.

It's good to know if someone wants to rob my cart full of treasure, I just need to stuff the cart 100% with treasure and the thieves will literally vanish because Destiny logic.

1 ReplySeems to be a flawed system. Not that I expect Bungie to change it. Unfortunately, some players either are unaware of the need to kill ruffians, are too zeroed in on completing the expedition, and/or have no interest in titles and are just playing the game for fun. I confess that I was largely unaware of this need to kill ruffians and really don’t concern myself with titles, but I do tend to make a beeline to these ruffians when they appear. It is a shame that Bungie devises a game mode where players end up working against each other. Particularly when in some cases it is not at all on purpose.

Yeah, the whole mechanic behind the ruffians makes no sense. At the very least the ruffian shouldn't despawn at 100%.
