ever since breach and clear left, the meta has been one of 2 things. its either, linear fusions + div or its been melee builds that were exploiting buff stacking. sure theres been some double slug and izzi rocket in the mix. i cant help but feel though that these metas hurt pve in general.
in my opinion, these forms of damage are too strong and bungie knows about them. so they make encounters with far to big of health pools. essentially forcing you to use only those things. im trying to do solo dungeons, mind you i have solo flawless on most of them, and i cant keep up on damage. so i look up a video and its some stupid min maxed 3x100 stat melee build.
it sucks too because the mods needed to make these builds are drip fed to us at such a ridiculous pace. the only way to get everything, was to have been there when it was easy to get them. i and many other players didnt know mods were meta till it was too late and are now being starved just so i can get font of might EVENTUALLY.
long story short i am a dedicated player, i have been since d1, i really enjoy the game and all its hardest content, i love the build crafting and the possibiltys there. i just think its getting to a point where the builds that are powerful enough to do most the solo high end stuff, with any sort of efficiency, are the 1% of builds, Held by the 1% of players.

1 ReplyUntil Bungie gets rid of the revive token system, this is how the game is going to play. Maximizing damage allows you to get through encounters with fewer damage phases. Fewer damage phases means fewer teams deaths and fewer chances for unrecoverable mistakes. Bungie will push back, and you wind with the illusion of choice where builds are concerned. This is part of why end game activities have lost a lot of their appeal to me . As a Warlock main I simply am tired of playing Well of Radiance and Lunafaction boots all the time. It’s become boring…and frustrating.
