Metrically speaking, it's laggy as all get out, Ketchcrash is the only relatively fun thing introduced, and the weekly missions are the most barebones excuses for content I've seen.
Narrative and story wise, what happened? Last season was a commentary on trauma in all of our favorite characters. This season had an opportunity to be a dark struggle for Eliksni allegiance with The Spider with uncertain motives and mystery surrounding the relics, but no. Instead of that we get cringy Drifter jokes as "dialogue," reskinned lost sectors as "pirate hideouts," and Spider's shell game as "rewards."
I'm just so frustrated with how little you seem to care about the quality of your production. I feel bad for the rendering artists and VAs that carry this operation. Please try to have at least some content or tell a compelling story. So far, we're 0-2.

Idk this whole season for me is just kinda cringe

Facts! This season just feels like it's missing something. This season literally just revolves around ketchcrash and that shiet gets boring after the 10th run.
-
It's a bit cheesy. I disabled dialogues since last season and I don't regret it. But it's supposed to be a filler season before the -blam!- hits the fan lore-wise so to speak.

1 ReplyActivity wise, this season is definitely on the "light-side". Ketchcrash - becomes a little too repetitive after a while Expeditions - I feel that it has an identity crises on what type of activity it wants to be because it uses (or re-uses) mechanics from a number of prior and current activities in such a way that it doesn't really work in a cohesive manner. Pirate Hideouts - ignoring the reused (reskinned) Tangled Shore lost sectors, this was a huge missed opportunity to have an engaging activity such as the Server missions from last season or the Shattered Realm from Lost. Instead we get a one and done mission that is lucky to last more than 10 minutes. Story wise, I am enjoying the conflict between Misraaks and Spider and their connection to one another as well as to Eramis. As for Eido and her part, I would like to see more between her and her father with them juggling their roles as Kell and Scribe along side their father / daughter relationship. Drifter - yea he does have fair amount of cringy dialogue. It feels like the writers have borrowed all of the bad tropes and clichés of his character type and thrown it into the story. It is as if they are trying make Drifter the new "Cayde-6" for the comedic NPC of the franchise.

When I saw it was a pirate theme, I knew it was going to be a joke.

I mean i’m finding it fun, I also only get in Destiny on the weekends with friends. Maybe take a break? That usually is good from time to time.

1 ReplyYou know what else kinda blows.? The 1/3 of the character class options (other wise called arc 3.-no warlock).
-
The events of this whole season could have been just a lore entry, which of course, most of us would ignore and never read.
-
1 ReplyIt sucks. Have barely played any new content. Weapons r -blam!- so r perks.
-
Yar she blows! Reskinned lost sectors and cheesy dialogue with the Drifter trying to bang Eris. Its not great.

Destiny fans think being an observer to parent argument is building tension and story which will result in us shooting a bullet sponge in a non consequential setting. Much story big wow

You clearly haven't been paying attention to the story -
So you're not noticing the building tensions in Eliksni quarter for Mithrax vs Spider? Eido vs Mithrax and a lesson on sheltering those you care about by hiding information? Eido vs Spider in the Engrams we got at the end of each week so far? We still have Spider on the line to be handed back to Mara at practically any time. Eramis reawoken by the Witness for a reason we haven't deduced yet aside of the relics, which we don't fully understand even do yet outside of ~~~darkness stuff~~~ There's also increasingly more Extraction dialogue about Saint and Osiris, who is apparently twitching / "Tossing and turning" in his comatose state now so something is also building for that too. It's not immediately in-your-face due to the fun pirate nonsense and drifter peeing on Spider's Ketch. But it's there if you pay attention to it.

It also sucks for F2P, cause there is nothing but arc 3.0, and if you don't use arc, then this season is empty. Last season we had nightmare containment, but eliksni location is nothing practicaly -
Agreed. But almost every season has been lame. For every decent one there are three bad ones. This is what it is now.

1 ReplyI'm probably wrong, but it would be cool if these reliquaries were housing Dredgen Yor. I don't know what it would amount to though, other than to make him more than something we've really only seen much of in the text lore.
-
I mean, there’s a lot of potential implication with this season’s narrative and on top of that we’re probably going to be getting a much deeper look into who Mithrax is and who he was. There’s still a lot of weeks left.

I’m finding it fun. Seasonal activity is pretty quick and fun. Fun perk combos on weapons. Storyline is pretty interesting if you understand where it’s leading…

Edited by Logan_Pelaez: 9/19/2022 9:16:10 PMI won't spoil anything, so...don't worry about what I am saying next. Someone datamined the cutscenes for season of the plunder, they are available on youtube. The story...well...lets just saying things are about to get really interesting
-
Yeah I definitely am confused where the content is? Like we are doing missions in lost sectors like you said and we are roaming around the same patrol areas. I will say I appreciate the new weapons and the perks available on them. But overall this season was just a bonus to the arc rework.
-
This season also features Eido trying to learn about Misraaks' past, and the secrets he wanted to keep hidden. Plus, not every season has to be heavy, and they probably wanted something more lighthearted after Crow, Zavala, and Caiatl last season.

more drifter = more good
