If you want to find what's causing the player exodus, simply look in the mirror.
The heavy handed micro-manipulation of the way the game is played, coupled with the obvious neglect Ie: well mods only showing up once per year in the shop, among other things, is the patently obvious answer.
For some unknown reason, you're rated as a AAA game dev. company. Good investment on whoever you're paying off to claim that for you. This kind of crap isn't what's expected. You're expected to pay attention to what's going on.
For a brief comparison between well mods and weapons mods, and weapons mods outnumber the well mods by quite a margin, you can play 3 games of "pick a list" and weapons mods will literally be dropping out of the sky like rain from the clouds at the end of each activity PLUS you have 6 and sometimes 7 rotating slots at the two vendors, Ada and Banshee.
Well mods have exactly 2, and sometimes only 1 spot at Ada.
Are you trying to set a record for operating with your eyes shut?
This has been mentioned ad nauseum on the forums with the expected "we don't give a crap" attitude from the devs.
Take the 15 seconds it would take to fix it. You already have vendor templates in place. Use one, stick it where drifter used to be, and bam, done. But no, you simply don't want to is all I can guess. You want the new players to feel like crap seeing all the builds they can't do by content creators showing how great the builds can be.
They could be like that for everyone if you showed the slightest interest in giving the slightest crap about the players.
But no, you won't take the miniscule time it would take to do that .... and you'll sit back and wonder why, no matter how many releases you do, that your population takes a 2-week peak, and then goes negative again.
You folks have a flat line learning curve. Facts.
What you should do is dedicate 40 hours/wk for a dev to come here and look at the forums and actually get things in the process of being addressed and have that dev post into the forum "hey, we see this, it's simple. Probably have it done tomorrow" Something like that. Instead, you insulate them and by doing that, you prohibit the growth and development of the population of the game. EVEN when you do address things quickly, it's ONLY if it is something that is game breaking in favor of the guardians, NEVER if it's game breaking against the guardians. Your bias shows in favor of the game, and your bias against the players show as well.
Gotta love a company that hates new players aka Bungie

1 ReplyIs this actually a post whining about not be able to cosplay the latest streamer cash grab video? First, just go buy mods as they come out, you’ll have them all soon. Second, “content” “creators” are just vultures making dumb videos consistently because it makes them money. 1 in maybe 20 build videos contain worthwhile builds. The rest are just clickbait cash grabs. That’s how YouTube works unfortunately. The content doesn’t have to be good, useful or accurate. It just has to get you to watch. So-take a break from the YouTube garbage and just play the game instead of worrying about how some stranger told you to play the game.

Unfortunately, I’m sure a lot of employees care about the player base. But when it comes to the actual individuals who are shareholders, executives, president(s) of the actual company itself. They could care less about complaints like this. As long as money is being pocketed, then they could care less about opinions. As sad as it is, it’s true. And not just for this company either; but for many that exist in the world today.

3 RepliesDear ITZ Baddy At Bungie they do not care about complaints. All complaints are IGNORED because it would mean having to actually fix something. It is easier to create a forum for people to VENT than it is to FIX something. Then you have the Bungie Fanboys saying "it's a skill issue" or "it's just a game". This is how Bungie sees it just a game they make loads of money from with plenty of new suckers arriving every day. They already have the money from those leaving, so why would they care? Sorry, but Bungie just will not do anything.

2 RepliesI’m sorry but these posts are always funny and yours went above and beyond. “Heavy handed micro manipulations” has to be one of the dumbest things iv heard in awhile. Keep up the good work.

6 RepliesPeople have been saying there’s a mass player exodus for years and I’m pretty sure this season is one of the more populated ones in recent history.
-
Correction, Bungie hates all their players.
-
You sure an exodus is a good idea? I heard one of the last ones got sucked into a black hole and hasn’t been seen since.

2 Repliesmass exodus, players stable at 1+m every season, yeah the mods '''problem'''' is a problem only for new lights, not really a big problem in a tutorial game
