I am not new to this game but I’ve attempted to introduce it to many of my friends and I’m discovering something disappointing. (No I do not throw my friends directly into crucible)
No matter the game mode, some of the builds people make give them a massive advantage over people who have the skills for gunplay but are unfamiliar with the mechanics. Skill does not matter in this game. It comes down to just knowing which guns will kill in one shot, which armor provides the most overpowered abilities, which abilities kill in one shot, etc. A person with better aim or quicker reflexes stands no chance against somebody with sub par skills and a broken build.
What this does is turn new people away from pvp and keep the sweat lords sweatier. The current state of it is if you want to prosper in pvp you must become a slave to the meta, which I think is very unfortunate.

Build crafting is part of Destiny 2 skillset, alongside gun skill and movement.
