Would it be possible to have a second row option so we can have multiple perk options.
Even better still would be to have the perks be slottable like a mod. Available only after you have purchased them
Maybe after the weapon reaches 30 or 50.
I have 3 calus mini tool as I wanted different roll options. Much prefer to have just 1 gun
EDIT:
A few replies point out that Bungie have thought/spoken about this so fingers crossed it can be implemented soon

1 ReplyDeepsight weapons when crafted should be lowered from 5 to 2 .. takes too long to get the same weapon 5 times..

Being able to change to any perk previously unlocked would go a long way too. 2000 per enhanced perk and you lose materials for changing perks 🙈 -
1 ReplyOr just have perks unlock forever when you purchase them so you don’t need to waste mats when reshaping if you want to try a different roll and want to switch back.

That would make adept weapons useless. -
4 RepliesMercules (Bungie dev)spoke about this on DMB podcast, they want to but apparently it’s very difficult to implement.

Edited by Baya: 9/20/2022 7:37:38 AMAbsolutely. As it is now, crafting is not really useful. You still have 2 or even 3 crafted weapons.

My suggestion was (in short), that we be allowed to ADD perk choices at the weapon creation whatsawhosit thingamajig, instead of replacing perks. In other words we could retain the ability to select any perk we had previously added to the weapon. Only being able to select a single set of perks without going back and paying to change the weapon really limits the appeal of crafted weapons (for me at least). Gunship

I hope this will happen. Craftable weapons are the best way to save vault space. It could be complete if you could add multiple rows on one gun. Maybe at level 25 you get an extra barrel slot, on 30 an extra 3nd row perk. On 35 a third slot and on 40 a forth slot. That way you can make your PvE and PvP roll on the same weapon. Pretty sweet. :)

I’m 100% with you on the mini tool. My Titan and Hunter love the grave robber & incandescent because they have ranged melees with almost 100% uptime. My warlock needs either threat detector or unrelenting but I cba to make another level 20 mini tool.

I remember seeing a dev tweet/make a reddit comment saying they were looking into something like this. Hopefully it won't be long because this has been requested since WQ launch

3 RepliesI'm sure I'm not the only one who thought the way they presented crafting was that once we unlocked a perk, it would be on that weapon forever. Obviously that's on me, but I do think crafting needs an update. For one, let me choose the element. If it locks certain perks like incandescent, so be it. I would like a Void Drang.
-
Well right now there's no reason to continually upgrade a weapon. I think it slightly polishes the stats at a certain point but what if we just let it stack up to three. You unlock your first additive slot at 40, then one slot every 20 levels there after, maxing at 3 slots per column.

7 RepliesI dont think double perks would be the best solution i think just unlocking the perks that you've selected permanently so you can just interchange perks more freely at the crafting table. Double perks would render tons of weapons even more useless such as adepts and that would create powercreep

1 ReplyFirst thing they need to fix is the drop rate. Or at least an unrestricted amount of materials that can be held. I’ve got a vault full of red border junk with no way to spend the material cause I can’t get 5 of something to drop. Best so far this season is 3 waste landers….that’s a waste all right!

Edited by Phoenix: 9/19/2022 6:21:05 PMYou should just be able to spend resources to unlock a perk on a crafted weapon, permenantly adding it to an increasing list of selectable perks.
-
1 ReplyAgreed, I would like both a pvp and pve roll of enhanced perks.

1 ReplyI thought this was the idea of having craftable weapons, to free up vault space and make life a little easier for players, but in true Bungo fashion it's just another way to stretch out the amount of time we have to play. The current system needs an update to allow unlocked perks to remain just that, unlocked. Having to pay again for perks you have already acquired is a joke. I don't care if I have to put in time to level these perks up and I don't care if I have to pay materials to unlock each one, but once I have done this I should be able to swap them at will.
-
Yeah this whole craft thing is a decent idea however, if I have to go somewhere to constantly recraft the weapon it wastes time when they could just let us unlock al the perks and select the one we want right from the weapon. As it is crafting has made things worse in my inventory not better.
-
100%. Isn’t this the point of crafting weapons? Only need one that does everything, also helps with vault space etc…
-
I’d expect this maybe at lightfall. Fingers crossed though.
-
Adept weapons should be able to swap perks during lock out.

Mod slotted 👍

1 ReplyIt’s so rare to actually have good ideas here. So many people have mentioned this idea and it would solve a lot of the problems with crafting. Funny how the red frames were claimed to help remedy the vault space issue to some degree and just ended up making the situation worse.
-
Bungie wants you to spend those materials and your time.
-
Bungie, this idea would allow for us to consume way less vault space. Maybe once we craft a weapon and unlock the perks we could have them all at the same time and then we can just put on the perks we need for certain encounters.
-
Agreed, would also like to have barrel/mag options like ’normal’ versions do.
