Ever since the updates that finished yesterday, I have had problems with D2. I am not sure why it changed, or even what changed, but it seems that D2 has a higher hard drive data reliance. What I mean is, the game now comunicates with the hard drive more than it used to while running. Now this might not be seen as a problem, until you factor in that I have an external hard drive. When this drive overheats from this increased data usage, it cannot maintain its connection to the console and ends up severing it.
I played for some time on my ps4 this morning, only to have the drive overheat and freeze my whole system. Now I cannot even load a character before the drive disconnects. I believe the cause is the updates that pushed this last week, considering I did not have these problems prior to this while playing the game, it is the only recent change that can be attributed to the problem. I have played other games contained on my external drive today and not had these problems.
I have no idea if my case is unique, or if there are many others. I just hope you can look into the problem.

1 ReplyThose are also signs of a dying hard disk (internal or external).

2 RepliesHello! I haven't seen any similar problems so I am unable to tell you whether it is just you or a problem that is occurring for multiple people. Just make sure you're not running destiny 2 on an outdated, or old external hard drive, as destiny 2 in the end is a pretty heavy game on your system.
