We can all say void 3.0 hunter is a good subclass because of invisibility. But we’re a one trick pony. Sure we have the added benefit of weakening, but it don’t really do anything compared to child of the old gods from warlocks and their Grenade spam builds. Void 3.0 hunter need something else besides I go invis then that’s it. It has no regen aspects like the titan and warlock, it no other melee besides smoke bomb which can barely kill a dreg in pve. Not to mention when you use trappers ambush it doesn’t proc things like impact induction so no grenade regen from that. What void hunters need is to double down on weakening and invis to feel special. Warlock has devour, a volatile melee, a tether (That hunters should’ve had), and great ability regen. Titans have volatile in their abilities, can have enhanced ability regen when having an over shield, and can proc an over shield whenever they pop a barrier that they can be aggressive with at all times. Hunter has invis, and weakening. Not to mention using smoke dive to weaken targets is average at best because you’ll just get yourself killed when trying to weaken things like high health targets and throwing a smoke bomb only weakens targets for five seconds compared to the 10 when you smoke dive them. But vanishing step and trappers ambush are fine to help cycle invisibility. What I want to talk about it the odd one out, stylish executioner.
Stylish executioner, a aspect that turns us invis after killing a void rebuffed target and we weaken on the next melee while invis. Before this was a 30% debuff before it got changed. But the meleeing part makes no sense because sure you’ll turn invis if you successfully kill a target with a melee but once again it’s to risky. Bungie buffed it so that along with the weakening debuff the melee does 100% more damage while invis in a patch from a while ago (correct me if I’m wrong) maybe a slight rework to it need to be in order.
Stylish executioner rework idea: Killing a void debuffed target grants you invisibility, your next melee hit will make enemies weakened. When killing your void debuffed target your weakening effects get increased (This will be called, mark of the executioner). Thus making you a walking tractor canon until you break out of invisibility with stylish executioner. You can smoke dive and that will have enhanced weakening effects, or your echo of undermining Grenade will have enhanced weakening effects, or your melee will have enhanced weakening effects.
This of course won’t be broken in the crucible because of the cooldown bungie put stylish executioner in the crucible and with the rare chance you might get a kill with stylish executioner you’ll get a reward for actually using it.
I know I’m just somebody random who’s blabbing but it doesn’t hurt to get your words out there. These aren’t demands but requests that will make void hunter a bit more fun instead of just making us invis all the time. Feel free to let me know what you guys think of this.
