Light Fall

I keep thinking that we are the ones that causes the light fall, because of the darkness weapons we wield and the weapons. Would there be any lore that would suggest this?

Nightfall doesn't mean the fall of darkness so Lightfall doesn't have to mean a moment of defeat. Quite the opposite actually. I'm thinking Lightfall is just a protocol or operation carried out by the most elite Guardians to preemptively strike the Black Fleet first and this is exactly what we're doing going to Neptune and descending into Neomuna. Guardians will be acting on the Travelers behalf to prevent a collapse on Neptune and it will be a display of power and hope whereas the Witness is saying it wants to unshackle everyone from hope to reveal their true nature. Lightfall is a battle for territory and morale for Guardians, who have no idea what the Black Fleet is truly after.

In the dark future lore book, in another timeline many guardians abandoned the light and got corrupted by stasis
