Before I continue, I'll throw out the disclaimer that I barely play Crucible. Honestly I'd probably never play it if there wasn't a Pinnacle tied to it every week.
The above is what I believe the problem is. Bungie has muddied quickplay by tying a PvE related reward to the playlist. I'd love to see Bungie release data on how many players do 3 matches of Control per character and then never touch Crucible for the rest of the week. I consider myself an average player when it comes to PvP, but I'm no sweat by any means. While I personally don't think I have enough data with the SBMM side to make a call there, I think that I can at least make the argument that Crucible engagement would take a significant hit if there were no Pinnacle tied to it.
To those who are heavily defending the Quitter penalty: Control is not Trials. I understand that Trials is only available on weekends and only for part of the season, but that's a separate discussion for you all to tackle.
Bungie already made the Pinnacle require 3 completions of any Crucible match and people still quit and find another match. Do they really think a quitting penalty is going to work? They'll just take the 30 minutes, do something else and come back later. Perhaps the solution here is to remove the Pinnacle from quickplay, and see if the people who play crucible to play crucible don't quit. Just do it like CoD where if you quit, you get the loss in your record and you move on. Save the quitter penalties for Trials and any other competitive playlist. If you want to penalize habitual quitters, then hire someone to do manual reviews, otherwise just let it be. Some people care about KD, some people care about win/loss, you're never going to be able to please both of them.

5 RepliesSo here's an idea... Have you tried not quitting? That usually solves the problem for me.
