Stop giving streamers special treatment. Their "service" streams are exactly what you list as "cheating".
They make money off of passively selling their carries 24/7 by gaining followers, paid subscribers as entry points for their raffles and viewership which equals money. That IS boosting.
Stop letting them get away with it. Also they are non stop recoving other peoples accounts still for videos because you put that exception into your biased rules to allow people explicitly to use other peoples accounts for "weapon testing".
Catering everything to the 0.1 % elitist population is getting so old.

If I get carried by a streamer I dont have to pay anything people donate at their own will. Someone else only getting to the lighthouse only because you paid them before hand are two completely different things
-
2 RepliesIt’s genuinely difficult to carry a PvE player to the lighthouse. And these streamers like GJ create a buzz and hype for the game. They aren’t cheating they are just great players.
-
1 ReplyBungie didn't care about recovs until it negatively affected their streamers ... that should tell you where they stand.

Edited by SxfetyPin: 9/18/2022 10:25:22 PMThis may come off as nit-picky, but that's not what I intend; I just want to make it clear that there is a difference that's 'technically' a loophole. It's definitely based upon how you perceive the word as 'carry'. People use the term so loosely, that for the most part, it doesn't mean what it's supposed to anymore. Carry originally meant to legit have someone do absolutely nothing, and you 'carry' all of that weight yourself. That's largely kinda not what happens when it comes to this; It's not as if when someone says,"I'm carrying you." Then the person being assisted simply jumps off the map every Round and legitimately contributes nothing- and is expected to do so. (Because simply being on Radar alone- even if not getting any kills at all, does have a major impact upon enemy's placement and strategy.) What Carry actually means nowadays is "I feel as if I'm better than you. I'll play the game with you and we'll go Flawless together." Which if the assisted person is simply being on Radar, they are having impact upon each Round, and can be seen as strategy, etc. It's very loophole-y. But I do agree with what you said; Carrying, regardless of contribution, or not, is a form of Boosting. But again, it's VERY loophole-y, and it's kinda hard to identify if someone's just having a bad day/weekend (we ALL have those), or if they're legit being Boosted to Flawless intentionally, and judge that from in-game data alone. -- (This is where I rant, so disregard this if you don't care) What I'd say is; Simply stop caring. The unfortunate reality is that Destiny will never be the game that you want it to be. The faster you accept that Bungie just ain't the company to actually care about this type of thing,(mostly because they profit as well from these things; Free promotion of their product, etc.) the better you'll become at accepting the game for what it is and establishing what you actually enjoy, and don't enjoy about the game. Maybe even then, your addiction will be shaken away, and you won't find yourself typing words that'll never be seen or considered by a Dev. The only way Bungie will ever begin to value your individual (which realistically, you're a no-name to them) opinions upon the game is if people realize that the over-priced Expansions for the game, where 99% of the content is recycled, done once and never again, is a scam. If Bungie starts losing money, THEN they'll care. But people are dumb. People will never accept that and die defending this game while throwing hundreds of dollars at each Season's recycled Horde Mode. Good ol' American business!

23 RepliesEdited by Aborted Enigma: 9/15/2022 7:27:43 PMCarry services have you directly paying somebody for the service. Offering to help your subscribers is not cheating or against any rules. Maybe stop obsessing about other people and what they do?…such a weird personality trait you kids have.

7 RepliesEdited by DHawk12: 9/16/2022 6:24:33 AMBoosting is not the same as carrying. I’d rather face a streamer doing a carry instead of facing them while fully stacked and it’s not like they will stop playing if carries were somehow banned. The allowed recovs for “weapon testing” should probably get removed though and bungie should take it a step further and ban vpn’s so recovs are no longer possible without getting banned.

2 RepliesBan me and all the raid sherpas then. Because god forbid we actually teach people how to do raids and not post “kwtd” on all of our posts like cowards.
-
Boosting is people paying for it, but if someone wants to carry me, be it a streamer to ramp up their views/subscribers, a friend, or a random LFG, then there is nothing wrong with it. Is it cheating if Gladd makes passive income and offers to teach/carry newcomers through raids - or is it just because you are complaining because Trials was designed for only a small percentage of the playerbase to achieve without help? If you have such a problem with it, find a team of betters to help you through...there are a lot of toxic PvP clans out there that do it just for giggles, or realize that helping someone when there is no direct payment is no different than when they get paid to play the game in general.
-
While you are right, not all streamers do paid carries to the lighthouse. Some do free raffles all weekend.

That’s not true though. Boosting is when you pay (or not but most of the time) someone to hop on your account and complete stuff. Streamers that are helping people go flawless or through a raid, for free is absolutely not boosting/cheating. I really don’t understand the pure hatred a lot of folks have towards the top streamers in this community. Most of them dedicate hours and hours to help players through raids and trials for free. If you don’t like giving them your free viewership as payment than that’s a you issue. -

Carrying relies on skill. If you aren’t good enough to win a 2v3 then just say so.
skill issue
Edited by Talia Sendua: 9/17/2022 9:28:47 AMHelping someone for free (even as streamer with "sub to me first") it is legal and fine. Helping someone because he/she/they did pay you, is illegal and against the terms.

Wasn’t an issue until some of the supposedly best got clapped by accounts with a .3 and zero flawless. Wishuluck would religiously destroy all these “cater to my stream “ so called elites

27 RepliesHow is helping someone generally for free cheating?

4 RepliesBy boosting they mean account recoveries not a carry if somebody wants to pay to be carried that’s their prerogative. Personally I’d feel no sense of joy in loot I didn’t work for.

carry is not recov,

3 RepliesHearing people moan about streamers is getting old. The obsession is a little weird.
-
Streamers aren’t logging in to people’s accounts to take them flawless. The person could still go flawless with bad stats, and some do. This just sounds like jealousy that nobody is carrying you flawless. Or maybe you paid somebody to sign in to your account and earn something for you. Streamers are basically offering a service of “we will play games with you”. It’s and LFG everyone can watch.
-
When a team is carrying, there’s always a small chance that they don’t succeed. I’ve seen a guy who was trying to carry two people, and the whole game we targeted him and once he was down, we pretty much won the round. If you’re confident with your team you can shut down the carry and then you won’t have to complain. If the dude is so good he can carry two people, that’s awesome for him. Who cares if he’s making money off it. Dude probably spent more time in this game than you have at work.
-
Carrying doesn’t involve you letting someone use your account which is what recovers are plus there’s a triumph for the flawless title for carrying/helping players to the lighthouse so unless these said carries start doing what recoves do and you let someone else use your account it won’t be a bannable offense

Boosting has been considered cheating in many competitive games, and even multiplayer games in general. Carrying involves playing WITH a better player, boosting is a better player playing FOR you.
