The 2 dashes were not removed.
If you eat your nade you have 2 dashes.
It was changed because warlock had 2 dashes on a base 5 second cooldown while hunter has 1 dodge on a base 30 second cooldown.

You're right, but I personally play hunter and warlock at a reasonably high level in crucible, and hunter dodge was only something I ever used to either go invis or insta dodge after shotgunning And Icarus dash was to move towards the enemy and push points, never to dodge bullets because it is quite -blam!- since it leaves you vulnerable in the air, during which any decent player can and will instantly kill you
