Quitter penalties in Quickplay Control are Bungies way of saying "The beatings will continue until morale improves" without actually getting to the root of why people quit. My opinion is 3 main reasons
1- uneven team balance, you'll have a team of 6 randoms play against a full 6 stack or 2 three stacks. There's no rewards that make it worth staying, most of us already have every variation of Out of Bounds anybody could want and then some
2- poor map rotation, there's 20 pvp maps in Destiny but we only play on 5 long range maps and of those 5 you'll get some matches on the same map over and over. Sometimes 3 matches in a row (dysfunction)
3- they're simply trying to protect their stats (KD) and will leave as soon as they see the match isn't going the way they want it to.
Bungie has announced that more changes were coming to pvp matchmaking but I don't think rolling the penalties out first was a good move. That's not even mentioning that many of the changes that have happened this season were promised to the community to happen last season and they didn't. It almost feels like Bungie wants this version of pvp to die off so they can change to a character based format. Many of their recent job postings would indicate that something like that is in the works. Any feedback or serious dialogue is appreciated but you can just go ahead and miss me with any and all toxicity
