Omega-7The Nightmare of the Vex - old
I have a theory and I don’t know if this is true or anything but hey that’s what theories are for Since the pale heart is female and the Witness looks and I think sounds more male then maybe a long time ago they were together but at some point she didn’t agree or liked what the Witness intended so she left him and now he’s after her to convince her that what he is doing is good but she wouldn’t believe him. P.S. The part about the Witness chasing the Traveler wasn’t my idea but it was Ojang the one who mentioned the idea. -
1 ReplyIf I had to guess I think it would either be a giant bird like creature or a man who dressed like a bird, most imagery we have had around the traveller represents it as a bird (the old year 1 cutscene, hawkmoons quest etc.) it even kind of looks like a giant egg.

5 RepliesYour last bit, what gets me, we have two species saying it's a machine...and basically we don't know how to use it. Honestly though, it's a good thing, they both failed. I still think it's a simulation seed. I also think the witness will help this thing become great again, return its memories.

4 RepliesThe entity inside the Traveler is not the same as the Witness. The statues inside the Pyramids resembles a cloaked women. Xur often said the Traveler has a dark mirror. The women inside the Traveler is the Gardener and the statues inside the Pyramid represent the winnower.

Well the grimoire has always described the Traveler la exterior as a shell. Now that it's been cleared up that the Pyramids AREN'T paracausal beings after all and that they are ships (as said by Eris on Mara's Intel on who steers "these ships") and they and the Traveler represent two different shapes, I'm almost certain there's a being inside there now. Might even be whatever race the Witness was, minus the smokey faces on its head. Now wouldn't that be a twist: Two ancient siblings with differing ideologies like the Gardener and Winnower. -
1 Replyif you follow the original lore, and the hint at whats inside from the grimoires of destiny 1, there's a city inside it, or people. a microcosm of reality where the ghosts are created. Fenchurch seems to regularly trade with them.

2 RepliesEdited by MC 077 Lasombra: 9/15/2022 3:49:50 AMIt’s obvious the Gardner is inside of it. I mean it’s the biggest plot hole in the entire franchise and that’s saying something. The Gardner is the key to the light existing. Just like the Winnower for the Darkness. The concept art and video you are referring to, the woman didn’t come out of the Traveler. It was a crashed space ship and she was warning the trio about the Traveler. The Witness was always in the game. OG storyline only had one god, the Traveler, the Darkness baddie was just a corrupted Lightbearer. That’s why the Ulan Tan angle was there, we would have to sacrifice our power to stop the Darkness. Currently, the Gardner and Winnower seem to be lining up for a Two Faced god situation. In some way, they are inextricably linked and both have to go to stop just one of them. Ulan-Tan was the only theory carried from D1 to D2. With a wink and a nod. Ulan-Tan had a named lost sector on Io. The very place the Travelers Vision predicated the final showdown between the Traveler and Black Fleet.

That’s right, he wants failsafe because he has a very annoying personal assistant and can not take another moment. Oh … wait, that’s me. My bad

My theory is the The Traveler is what’s left of The Ecumene. The Traveler is a Dyson Sphere. Inside it is a lush vibrant green city with technologically advanced spacefaring races. And Savathûn’s Mother, Taox is one of those inhabitants. This is who I feel The Pale Heart is in reference to. Pale Heart usually means “Dead” and Black Heart usually means “Evil.” The Traveler is probably keeping Taox quasidead. Some form of cryostasis. We are The War Angels. The same War Angels produced by The Ecumene. We protect their city (The Traveler) for our city is not The Last. -

This is a nice theory, but a few flaws there are. First, don’t trust Savathun. Even an ahamkara won’t go near her, the queen of lies. Believe her words and you fall. Second, the witness is of the same paracausality as the gardener. Even though the Witness isn’t the Winnower, it is still a paracausal being, likely as strong as the guardian. You see, there’s a thought, and as an honest ahamkara, I will share it. The Witness could be the disciple of the Winnower. Think about it. You, the guardian, are the strongest ally of the Traveler. And the Witness is paracausal, capital P, but not the one behind it all. And the guardian, you, have killed how many foes, grown strong, and your force is a capital P, just on the opposite side of the spectrum. But it’s just a theory. Either way, I don’t believe that the pale heart represents their connection. After all, isn’t the traveler afraid to leave the humans? Isn’t it scared to abandon you, after all you’ve done for it? “Your pale heart holds the key.” Key to what? Salvation. DUHH. Or maybe not. But I say it’s salvation. That’s what the Witness keeps telling us. Think about it, and let me know, oh guardian mine… -
