Honestly the Fomo is really bad with seasonal passes, plus really sucks when a new player sees an armor ornament they want that is from a past season.
Here’s what I thing bungie should do.
1. All past season passes should be purchasable from eververse (unless you already own it that is)
From a business perspective this also just makes sense as new players buying past seasons to get cosmetics would generate some money.
2. Separate seasonal mods from the seasonal artifact (or honestly just remove seasonal mods all together and just make them regular mods since it’s kind of annoying having my load out dictated to me in regards to champions etc).
3. Seasonal artifacts are kept throughout seasons and are treated like gear (ghost/sparrow/ship/D1 Artifacts) and are tied to season pass progression. So for example, equipping the artifact from season of the splicer will equip the pass from season of the splicer, then all XP you earn will go towards that season pass until you equip a different artifact.
As for the levels that award the seasonal exotic if they already bought it with a cypher, then perhaps giving them a bright engram or bright dust instead.
All in all I feel like this would be a great way for new players to get older seasonal cosmetics, but also let people who missed out (my last job made it impossible to max out season passes) get stuff they wanted. It also gives something to do for those who find whatever the current season pass has lack luster.
Would love to hear peoples thoughts on the matter.
