You all
- force us into SBMM so anyone over a 1.3 k/d is forced into lobbies that are unforgiving, laggy, unfun, and full of hostile players who are also unhappy they're forced into ultra meta world championships
- force us into the most unpopular, large, boring maps that don't encourage engagement and instead take more time to traverse from spawn, to the hot zones, only to die from someone far outside of your range who was posted up waiting for you
- force us into staying in these unfun matches on unfun maps by banning us if we quit
I'm not sure anyone working on PvP right now understands the fundamental pain points we are having, my benefit of the doubt is gone
Bungie i'm sorry i have a 1.8 k/d and i'm apparently the problem in pvp for everybody but congrats, problem solved: i quit pvp, this sucks. i hope that was the solution y'all wanted! can't suspend me if i don't play.

Edited by twey_ironside: 9/14/2022 7:00:40 AMI am with you mate. SBMM was such a great success that quitter penalties had to be introduced. It’s a blanket to hide the real issues like team balancing, spawns, lag, etc… I honestly think this will make the PvP population dwindle fast as I take the liberty to leave an unfinished match and If I am locked out I will quit Destiny for the time being and play some other game.
-
Agree one if their worst ideas ever Too many bad maps and bad matches for this to be fair on peoples time…
-
11 RepliesAnyone who felt quitting was a standard game mechanic or abused it to protect a KD score is a loser and good on Bungie for punishing them.
-
3 RepliesI'm in the same boat and yeah -blam!- sucks. I'm just staying away from control for now, the matches I'm in guarantee me running a slug and a pulse/smg. Can't throw on Cerberus+1 or some random leviathan weapon to have fun with anymore. 24/7 sweat fest
-
Incredible all I do is play pvp in this game -blam!- off I’ve had enough of their -blam!- bullshit. I have never ever called for anyone to get fired but bungie you need to completely replace the pvp team what a -blam!- joke this is, this is such a -blam!- embarrassment at all levels
-
Amen ! I ai't playing this -blam!- show of PVP anymore until they change it. It's not fun nor makes it any reason to play. social playlist my butt. pvp is done.
-
Since u posted this you have had 4 games in control and more in general crucible. If your gonna make a threat, follow thro with it. Quit crucible. I don’t want you to quit, but when you make posts like this and don’t follow thro all I see is someone who is just lying about his experience and doesn’t think it’s as bad as they claim. Cause it was bad enough to make you quit, u would quit. Since your still playing. It clearly isn’t that bad.

With 5-6 stacks going crazy on randoms, I’ll bow out every single time…
-
Eh... I'm a very casual PvP Player and even I can see that this was the wrong call. Bungie shouldn't have implemented a Leaving Penalty for Quickplay. Not only because it makes no sense, but because this is not a solution; it just brings other problems on the table that are going to divide the PvP community even more. I can't say this for sure, but I wouldn't be surprise to see an increment of AFK players (which would substitute the leavers) and more stacks in Quickplay now that their opponents have to decide if remaining and risk to get stomped or leave and get a Penalty. Nothing of this is healthy for the PvP ecosystem.

14 RepliesYou have come to the realization that the only thing you can do to “potentially” invoke change to PVP is to stop playing. But will you? It’s easier to cry on the forum than to actually stop playing if you’re not enjoying the game. 3/4’s of the idiots on this forum won’t stop playing but continuously complain. Don’t be one of them.
-
Edited by Dubufu: 9/14/2022 3:48:31 PMI'm doing just more than fine with SBMM but I simply just don't enjoy it. However, my 12 year old brother loves it and i'm happy to see him hitting snipes on players within his skill range. He's been playing non-stop and I would never take that outlet away from him. I'd say the best solution is to completely undo the quitter penalty and make clash a permanent playlist to improve variety and avoid burnout from sweaty matches. That, and from good player to good player - I don't respect anyone who has always thrived off meta choices every season. You quitting crucible has probably made the game a lot healthier and less sweaty in general. I'm sure if I used the top weapons and best subclasses every season, I'd be a 1.8KD too lmao.

Edited by Saint: 9/14/2022 3:52:25 AMReality hits hard, I know.
-
This not the first time they have put it in place.
-
I wonder if you just hide a the back of the map being inactive, whether the game will just kick you as it does now. If you get kicked, technically you aren't quitting. Normally you get kick after a minute or so. I bet you will see an increase in AFK players

Bungie i'm sorry i have a 1.8 k/d and i'm apparently the problem in pvp for everybody but congrats, problem solved: i quit pvp, this sucks.
If you are on 1.8 K/D and complain about facing equal opponents, then it tells also a lot about you as a player. You seem to like easy wins where only you and a few selected have fun while everyone else has the worst day one can have in crucible. Tell me, what makes you MORE IMPORTANT than the others? Sounds like you are also arrogant.
-
2 RepliesWhat are the penalties now for control for quitting ?
-
3 RepliesIf you're a quitter, don't play PVP because you sabotage your team by leaving. Good riddance. Comebacks happen all the time even if it seems impossible, even against 6 stacks. You leaving just pretty much guarantees your team is going to lose.
-
15 RepliesThey changed a single game mode. It's meant to be a mode for beginners. Control wasn't fun last season due to the difficulty. Regarding quitting games, it's pretty simple. Don't quit. If you're leaving 1 in 3 games, then you don't need to be playing the mode.
-
Edited by More Power: 9/14/2022 5:17:35 AMThere’s 6v6 Clash this week that’s CBMM. Last week there were 2 games with 6v6 CBMM. You have options… no one is forcing you into SBMM.
-
We must denounce Bungie actions for enabling Quitter Penalties in Control Playlist
-
I'll quit control too as well
-
It feels like they went out of their way to -blam!- up sbmm and matchmaking intentionally so they can say “oh we tried” and then use this as an excuse to never mess with it again. I don’t understand how they can -blam!- up this bad. Like how incompetent of a studio do you have to be for a big part of your game to be in the sorry state that it’s in? Bungie has gotta step up and do something here, lack of maps, lack of lobby balancing, this sorry excuse for SBMM… -blam!- shame it’s going this way.
-
The quitting penalty I can actually get behind. The SBMM and continued persecution of the hardcore base, I cannot.
-
4 RepliesUpvote for sure my dude. I think that’s the stupidest choice they’ve ever made for pvp. Its a CASUAL GAME MODE. Save penalties for competitive. What an absolute joke 😂 control is so casual it’s not even meant to be taken seriously. I’m honestly shocked they enabled that for regular crucible. I used to play constantly, but I won’t be now. I’ll probably just do trials on the weekends and that’s it. Way to go bungie, you’re slowly ruining crucible for casual players. Nice.
-
“ renewed focus” lie after lie from these 🤡
-
If you can't keep people from leaving, punishing them just means less people playing. Maybe figure out why people are leaving and address that issue. Casual modes shouldn't have leaver penalties. They probably shouldn't have SBMM either. I'm an advocate of SBMM in trials where it's supposed to be sweaty. It also doesn't solve the issue. People will still leave. And anyone who doesn't feel like playing an entire game short handed is now stuck slogging it out and likewise gets penalized for leaving. Stranding players in bad experiences is not good for business. Queue times are not long enough to make lobby hopping painful and if one or two people have left you can leave to! It's likely a loss anyway. Just chalk it up and move on. Terrible idea. Shame on you Bungie. You're ineptitude is showing
