You all
- force us into SBMM so anyone over a 1.3 k/d is forced into lobbies that are unforgiving, laggy, unfun, and full of hostile players who are also unhappy they're forced into ultra meta world championships
- force us into the most unpopular, large, boring maps that don't encourage engagement and instead take more time to traverse from spawn, to the hot zones, only to die from someone far outside of your range who was posted up waiting for you
- force us into staying in these unfun matches on unfun maps by banning us if we quit
I'm not sure anyone working on PvP right now understands the fundamental pain points we are having, my benefit of the doubt is gone
Bungie i'm sorry i have a 1.8 k/d and i'm apparently the problem in pvp for everybody but congrats, problem solved: i quit pvp, this sucks. i hope that was the solution y'all wanted! can't suspend me if i don't play.

3 RepliesAdding this without an option to not match against teams of players is insanity. Pvp will actually die from this.

I think the quitter penalty is deserved. I have seen a match devolve into a Stomp fest simply because 1 cannot be bothered to play or take an L. I almost never quit matches regardless. Simply put, bungie is trying to make fair mm but the quitters ruin it. Before people come with - Unfair mm: Its sbmm, it happens in any system regardless. Hence I am of the opinion that cbmm/Sbmm hybrid would have been the best - The map: So what...cry me a river, play on it. When you enter trials you have to play on it anyway. Might as well study it a bit in 6's 🤷♂️ - someone else quit: Yeah, so? By you leaving you ruin the match for anyone that takes your place if you leave and that of the other dude - It's sweaty and laggy: This is what sbmm gives, this is what some you wanted. You get what you asked for. Don't complain snd if not...well, I guess deal with it. I like it just as much as you do. Anyway, quitter penalty is deserved. Especially on things like freelance (if you want it) I see way too many quitters there. No wonder freelance in the regular Playlist is not even a thing🤣

I’m only playing banner when it’s up

15 RepliesAs a PvP main, I had to uninstall the game today. Shame on Bungie management for spoiling such a beautiful game :(

Edited by iliopoulosXD: 9/14/2022 11:05:31 AMThey dont play the game. They dont know the community. They throw poop at the wall to see what sticks. Development is hard. Even if its what you do...what you get paid literally millions of $ for.

Edited by TClark5950: 9/14/2022 10:46:28 AMI'm overall a 1.3kd PC player and alot of my friends are under 1kd on Xbox. We used to play elimination all the time and have super fun close games. Now we can't play at all it feels even sweatier than games of trials.. I hope bungie PVP team actually listens

Best way that bungie could fix the laggy connections in pvp would be to region lock the game for pvp. But they won't do that because they know if that happens, certain regions would just use other methods to get into the others and would be twice as laggy.

Ok that was always allowed. Byeee

I stopped giving a damn ages ago, pvp will always be hell just accept it.
-
if you think its bat when you get matched with a 6 stacks that sweat just as much as you do, now imagine what the team you left feels like

Edited by hate n payne: 9/14/2022 7:14:31 AMThey are lost in the sauce. SBMM is needed to rebalance the gaming stats of players due to exploits of CBMM. Cannot blame SBMM for the problems of connections or lack of balancing when CBMM and lack of dedicated servers created the problems to begin with.

I’ll wait to see what the final PvP revamp look like till season 19 like bungie said they would. To be fair, one of the biggest complaint of PvP in season 18 since SBMM was people quitting a lot, so now let’s see how it plays out. Let’s see some map voting and see better adjustments to SBMM, I’ll keep my emotions in a bit longer

1 ReplyI am with you mate. Today I disconnected from the loading page of Control many times before I saw my teammates. Then I was banned from Comp. -blam!- it, I never quit halfway and it's just like a shame for me to be punished. Pretty funny that Bungie's sucks server destroyed my experience while the one pay for it was me.
-
If I leave a match, it was because I DC'd. How can they penalize us if they don't fix their connection issues?
-
Good, sick of teammates throwing matches when were only down by 20. Screw the kd farmers as well.
-
1 ReplyYour kd only where it sat because you keep leaving matches…👀👀👀👀

I also think I remember reading about how scout rifles weren’t getting used, and the over prevalence of hand cannnons being a complaint, and the bigger maps tend to favor scouts and pulses, so maybe that’s bungie trying to do that? Idk. I don’t really like that big Moon (?) Or Dreadnought map (it’s hivey and doesn’t have the doors-that’s the moon map) things a walking simulator some times.
-
If I didn't have much reason to play before, I have even less now. Thanks for that, I guess.
-
im suprised they wanna penalise quitters with how bad the connections are. if my shots dont register or i get damage glitched or if the enemies are teleporting each engagement, then i would want to leave the game

8 RepliesEdited by gabezilla101: 9/14/2022 12:10:27 AMThen don’t play control. Everyone is aware of the change and it’s received by most as an improvement. There are other CBMM modes to play,. IB was all week and was CBMM and Trials will be here on Friday and that’s CBMM. Funny thing is IB wasn’t quick match making and had lag issues so blaming SBMM isn’t accurate. They changed one mode and everything else is the same.

Its writtent in the message : Quickplay has now became a competitive mode. So i guess you are forced to be a tryhard now x) So far its the only fps game i know that is punishing you for leaving 2 quickplay under an hour Other games understood the meaninq of qp. But hey i guess the (not) pro players of qp are happy for some reasons There is other games with a good pvp anyways (Also have fun playong in disjunction knowing you cant leave LOL)

7 RepliesI very rarely quit matches unless I'm up against a 6 stack that's just melting everyone on our team. While I understand why they would implement something like this because of the increase in leaving for this season's SBMM, I'm also surprised they went through with it. This isn't a competitive game mode, and this is probably the wrong way to go about fixing this issue. Matchmaking for more consistent Team balancing and stacking would probably go a lot further than this, and yet getting placed on a team of dubious quality vs a full stack has been all too common for me lately.
-
Edited by Jamestown01010: 9/14/2022 6:37:42 AMYeah and they did something with the SBMM too. Lobbies are unbalanced again after today’s reset. What was wrong with close matches? Now every other match is a blowout. Stupid. Imagine having matchmaking that was good for everyone and people didn’t want to quit. No instead they just penalize people because they don’t know how to do it right.

i just played 3 matches on disfunctional in a row, people would stop leaving if you either got rid of -blam!- maps or gave us the ability to ban maps we dont want to touch, that would fix majority of leaves, secondly, the invis and ib gun radar manipulation is already annoying as all hell, but to have it happen to you because your in america and they are in china? this is why cbmm makes sense in a quickplay environment, because there is to many issues, either that or just merge all the console and pvp servers and have actual crossplay, because as a pc player i cant get a match where atleast one person on my or enemy team is from china, got nothin against people across seas at all, just the connection in a p2p game mode. also everyone hating on him for saying he has a 1.8k/d and him complaining about the games being unfun, yea they are unfun as -blam!-, I'm barely average and all I see is unbrokens and flawless multiple times gilded in my matches and I'm just wanting to play the game mode I enjoy, if all you do is play for pinnacles then shut it, pvpers don't complain about raids or gambit, they just do it for pinnacles or weapons just like you in crucible and we don't say anything about it, and if you call 1.8kd "elite", I bet if you go look at his games every game had someone in it with over 2.0 kd, balancing goes 1.2kd and below= bracket one 1.3kd and above=bracket two, so if you learn the maps, guess where you will be in a month, gl seeing you pinnacles chasers complain about that then while all of us are running full meta as its the only option in our bracket, no more trying weapons for fun or learning new playstyles, you goin to get raw dogged when you end up in the bracket and we will be here for the tears.

Edited by twey_ironside: 9/14/2022 7:00:40 AMI am with you mate. SBMM was such a great success that quitter penalties had to be introduced. It’s a blanket to hide the real issues like team balancing, spawns, lag, etc… I honestly think this will make the PvP population dwindle fast as I take the liberty to leave an unfinished match and If I am locked out I will quit Destiny for the time being and play some other game.
