You all
- force us into SBMM so anyone over a 1.3 k/d is forced into lobbies that are unforgiving, laggy, unfun, and full of hostile players who are also unhappy they're forced into ultra meta world championships
- force us into the most unpopular, large, boring maps that don't encourage engagement and instead take more time to traverse from spawn, to the hot zones, only to die from someone far outside of your range who was posted up waiting for you
- force us into staying in these unfun matches on unfun maps by banning us if we quit
I'm not sure anyone working on PvP right now understands the fundamental pain points we are having, my benefit of the doubt is gone
Bungie i'm sorry i have a 1.8 k/d and i'm apparently the problem in pvp for everybody but congrats, problem solved: i quit pvp, this sucks. i hope that was the solution y'all wanted! can't suspend me if i don't play.

17 RepliesYou are not forced to play. Sadly its been a long time coming, quitters ruin the match for others, doesnt matter if its a competitive mode or not. Sure some maps are bad get over it matches last 10-15 minutes. Traffic can be bad on the way to work too but I wont quit my job over it. I see many people saying sometimes they have to quit for "legitimate" reasons such as Kids, old pets, emergencies etc (even certain streamers have said they quit quickplay matches for these reasons yet these never seem to pop up while they are playing comp/trials.......smells a bit BS to me) Funny thing is these issues only seem to arise for players on the side that is currently behind.........again smells like pure BS. While I dont doubt on the odd occasion something does actually happen forcing a player to legitimately quit the time it would take to deal with the issue would likely render the small 30 min lockout a non issue. Only pathetic quitters who quit for selfish reasons and want to immediately re-queue will feel the full sting as they should.

6 Replieswhats worse than the quitter penalty is being in a close game and a teammate decides to leave just because. people like you are part of the problem.

Edited by Le Jin Rannoch: 9/15/2022 12:24:21 AMPeople need to stay and play the game regularly in order to be placed in their rightful skill bracket. Leaving bypasses this. This is why only Control has been selected to be the SBMM mode. Since it's the most popular playlist. It's the precursor before they make every other PvP playlist have SBMM.

I’m 1.5 and my lobbies are fine. Sweaty but at least not blowouts ….. I’m progressing and getting time to work on thing and I luv it man!

7 RepliesBungle is mad because people like me leave for a variety of reasons, which are mainly of their making. 1) I hate certain maps (Cathedral of Dusk and Disjunction mainly), so I fly in and leave. Bungle could allow us to Vote on the maps, which would at least weed out maps people hate. 2) With Bungles amazing matchmaking skills (NOT), where they are incapable of matching 6 stack to 6 stack, I usually wind up with 6 stack Vs 6 randoms, and I won't waste my time so I leave. 3) Or I'm checking what platforms I'm playing against and I see that they all have asian gamer tags (I'm in Western Canada - not China, Korea or Japan) and are playing on PSN (I'm on Xbox), and I won't waste my time playing against unkillable players, I leave. So keep sucking the fun out of the game Bungle, there are better games coming down the pipe in the next 8 months and see how many people buy your upcoming DLC with your Draconian "Play any way you want as long as it's our way" forced measures.

4 RepliesOnly massive turds play destiny for pvp

1 ReplyEven the streamers disapprove of Quitter penalty in control
-
3 RepliesJust dont quit midgame. Easy fix.

1 Replyhttps://www.xbox.com/play/media/257853TY I got 30 minute ban for trying to play control.. I got booted to title screen twice.. wtf 🤯 am scared to even go into pvp now incase I get kicked again and get like a day/week/month ban 🤣 https://www.xbox.com/play/media/Y82V2C75 Bungie really needs to sort this 💩 out
-
2 RepliesThey know exactly what they are doing, and that is implementing a deterrent to the rampant quitters. Is it the Best option? Hell no. But its simple and effective.
-
I think Bungie should go even further; week long bans for people who quit frequently.
-
1 ReplyCry harder so they can hear you.

I just know that I played my pinnacle Control matches today and the worst one of the three was where someone quit and we were in a 5-6 match for most of it. Got mercied but the map was big enough that it took awhile so I still finished my bounties. The other two were close games that came down to the wire… one that I thought we were going to lose and than flipped in the last 40 points or so.

13 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 9/14/2022 11:13:33 PMForce? Do you even realize that almost everything you said has happened to players whether it is SBMM or CBMM and Bungie has been flipping the switch since D1? Players are always going to suffer no matter what it is. There isn't any PvP game that doesn't have the same issues and there never will be. There will always be lag, maybe not every game but there will be. There will always be players better than others There will always be that forced maps There will always be that "forced" meta that I can't even believe you tried to use that knowing players will always go to their go-to or the next go-to when nerfs take place. But, the BS because of you player worried about your KD you guys quitting does need to stop, and for you to say "I quite PvP" because you are not getting things your way, really? I suck at PvP compared to players like yourself, but not one time have I ever cried about PvP since D1 released about nerfs or whatever it was SBMM or CBMM. Nor have ever cried about how weapons are "OP" while playing PvP. I have had to deal with you PvP players crying about PvP for 8 freaking years and the truth is, you PvP players are what's wrong with this game, and the streamers don't help this game one freaking bit with all their crying as well. I have seen it since D1 hundreds and thousands of times that you PvP players say all the time that you have given PvE players a hard time about, but because you guys cry way too damn much literally about everything about PvP?
Learn to adapt because I don't give a flying hoot whether it's SBMM or CBMM. I'll still play when I feel like it.
Edited by xbroggiex: 9/14/2022 11:02:42 PMQuitting penalties are one of the steps towards killing a casual mode. That and having SBMM on top of that where connections are dog water causing people to leave because games suck to play is just a recipe for disaster, that'll get more problematic with time as player numbers wane during latter parts of a season.
-
3 RepliesIll still leave matches, getting suspended from crucible is a blessing in disguse.

35 RepliesEdited by RabbitEars: 9/13/2022 10:53:24 PMYep not touching this games pvp anymore. I’m just going to another game. This community doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to causal vs competitive pvp and why competitive has leave penalties and causal does not. Bungie is listening to the wrong people and it’s killing this game.
-
3 RepliesForce? You choose to play, just like you choose to back out. It's all about choice. You can always do like the Elitist tell the casuals and "stick to PvE"...... You guys can't farm and leave now, without penalty... and it's KILLING YOU!! And I'm all for it. Stop backing out then! Take your ball and go home 😆 🤣 😂 P.S......evidently the Devs saw backing out was an issue as well....go be mad at them!

I got a 1.88kd too 🤷♂️ don't know what you're playing but all my matches have been close and the worst I've done is a 1.3 recently. No matches have felt sweaty at all and I've been messing around. I guess it's just luck

Perhaps instead of punting and implementing this idiot initiative… they could look deep within and wonder why players are quitting or getting DC’d. This could really be a come to Jesus moment and perhaps they could redo pvp as a whole. A robust ranked and unranked system, better rewards and a dedicated server because p2p connection in this game is complete -blam!-. Bungie: We hear you so We’re going to penalize players for playing our shitty game even though we know we’ve built it with no competent ideas in mind.

2 RepliesMW2 beta this week 🤞

Edited by Backlum Chaam: 9/14/2022 8:19:01 PMWill staying at the back of the map n emoting be ok? Cus I find that much more annoying compared to someone leaving n being replaced within 30 seconds.

3 RepliesWhat about the matches that have already started? We gonna get penalised for leaving them? Cus I hate joining a match half way through.

6 RepliesStop quitting matches and it's not a problem. Wow. Crazy.

2 RepliesBungie: Introduces SBMM (like 99% of shooters) to protect average and low skill players. Community: High skill lobbies are terrible. People keep quitting and It makes bad matches worse. Bungie: fixes the part high skill players dislike that’s not just “go back to CBMM” by adding quitting penalties to reduce the number of people leaving matches. Community: Why do we have penalties for leaving matches? Honestly unless you keep quitting matches over and over it shouldn’t be an issue and is literally working to combat what a lot of high skill players have been complaining about. A better strategy would be to get Bungie to fix their terrible Lobby Balancing algorithm. Maybe a long-term goal of changing how the high skill community treats the game (how frequently people feel they need to sweat) would be good too, but that’s never happened before so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
