Stasis was nerfed to be "brought in line" with the light classes, but then the light classes were buffed by a ton, leaving Stasis behind. It needs a niche again. Once Strand comes out, Stasis may be be forgotten.
It needs new abilities, specific buffs(like radiant or amplified) and universal buffs to stasis effects(at least in PvE). Also, there have been no new stasis exotic weapons in over a year. C'mon.
It's a full damage type, meant to be on-par with the Arc, Solar, and Void. Here are some suggestions for abilities, etc.
This is gonna be a lengthy forum, but I feel like there are some great ideas here that Bungie should definitely consider. Here goes.
Element-specific buffs:
• Winterized - A chilling aura that slows combatants near you. Reduced effective range against guardians.
• Armor of Darkness - Small stasis crystals orbit around you, able to block and reduce damage. (These can be miniature physical objects, similar concept of the juggernaut shield). These shards can be destroyed when they take enough damage.
• Weapons of darkness: special and heavy weapons slow targets on impact.
Effects:
• Glaze - frozen ground that either slows and damages or reduces friction between enemies and the ground. Slidy slide.
• Stasis Spike - a thorny stasis crystal that causes damage and slows on direct contact, and causes more damage when shattered.
Supers:
• Titan super: Coat yourself in stasis to become a giant sphere of destruction and charge forward, smashing through and slowing anything in your way. Upon command, shatter the orb, creating a large explosion and leaving stasis spikes in your wake, granting yourself Armor of Darkness. (Think along the lines of thunder crash)
• Hunter super: with supreme agility, roam the battlefield like a figure skater, continuously throwing slowing ice needles at your enemies. Temporarily Glaze the ground behind you, as well as Glazing the impact points from throwing stasis needles.
• Warlock super: Well of Shadow. Thrust your staff into the ground, creating an aura around you that improves your stasis powers. The staff acts like a larger, more powerful stasis turret, and allies who enter the field are Winterized and granted Weapons of Darkness. Enemies who enter are slowed over time.
New grenades:
• NightSpike grenade: creates a large stasis spike on impact.
• GroundZero grenade: releases a slowing wave on contact that Glazes the ground in front of you(in the shape of a triangle, going outward)
• ThornCoat grenade: grants Armor of Darkness and Winterizes you and any allies in close proximity.
New aspects and fragments can tie into the new buffs and effects. Also, it would be interesting if there was a fragment or mod that automatically shatters stasis crystals on expiration.
Melees:
• Titan Melee: create a stasis orb above your fist and hurl it, creating a shattering explosion on impact and freezing on direct hits. This orb is affected by gravity.
• Warlock melee: a stasis pulse that pushes back enemies and strikes them multiple times to slow and freeze them
• Hunter melee: Quickly slash the air in front of you, creating a short-range burst of icy mist that damages and slows enemies.
Overall buffs to stasis effects in PvE:
• Increased duration of slow and freeze effects and does not reduce damage for primary weapons against frozen targets.
Guys, it would be great if you posted your ideas in the comments and hopefully Bungie can take note of these concepts. I know Bungie wants us to provide insight and make suggestions, but it can be hard to nab their attention. Thanks.

2 RepliesEdited by King Bashtos: 9/13/2022 1:07:01 PMSome of my ideas (which I posted in another thread): Fortify - One of two new "verbs" for Stasis. Fortify coats the Guardian in a layer of armor, reducing damage taken. The lower the Guardian's health, the stronger the effect becomes, but with the cost of reduced/greatly hindered movement speed (the Guardian becoming heavier as the frost thickens). Using your class ability when impeded -- but protected -- can remove its effects. While Titans are the bulkiest and most Fortified, Hunters and Warlocks will have access to them as well. Stolid Definition - Calm, dependable, and showing little emotion or animation. The second buff for wielders of Stasis, which already exists in the fragment Whisper of Hedrons (the fragment would have to be reworked). Internalizing Stasis, the user steels their nerves and enhances their physical attributes, increasing their Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery while firing weapons with deadly precision. Hunters are the most Stolid of the 3, but Titans and Warlocks will have access to them as well. Stasis Shards made baseline for all 3 subclasses. These fragments of darkness now restore energy to the lowest charged ability, instead of granting melee energy. Normally created by defeating enemies with Stasis abilities, each class would have a unique way of synthesizing them: Freezing foes as a Shadebinder, defeating Slowed targets or precision final blows while under the effects of Stolid as a Revenant, and destroying Stasis crystals and melee final blows while Fortified as a Behemoth. To balance not having to Aspect into Stasis Shards, reduced the amount of Shards created by 50% (e.g. having to Freeze 2 red bars for 1 Shard, destroying 2 crystals, etc). Another change would be that Shards can only be collected by other wielders of darkness, i.e. Stasis and Strand. Having to only Freeze enemies, Warlocks will have the easiest access to Stasis Shards. Revenant New melee: White Mist - Thrown melee that coats a small area in hoarfrost, granting Stolid to you and allies that walk through it. Each ally affected grants grenade energy. New grenade: Siphoning - Grenade that attaches to targets, draining their light which damages and Slows them over a short period. New Super: Phantom Reaping - Bind the darkness within in Stasis chains and swiftly sow chaos and discord on the battlefield. Light attack - Strike enemies from afar with your Stasis kama, which retract short after. Heavy attack - Perform a spinning attack which shred nearby enemies. (Unfortunately, this idea might be too similar to the upcoming Hunter Strand super). Buffs Winter's Shroud now adds 3 Fragment slots, up from 1. Shatterdive now adds 2 slots, up from 1. Behemoth New-ish melee: Cold Front - Basically what is Howl of the Storm currently. Does the exact same thing with a new description added: "enemies resistant to Freeze will immediately detonate the Stasis crystals." (Howl of the Storm would need to be reworked) New grenade: Icebolt - Chains deadly Stasis bolts which Slows enemies hit. New Super: Remorseless Winter - Freeze heaven and earth with a titanic blast of Stasis energy, then Shatter your adversaries into a cold oblivion. It would be a one-and-done, point-blank, AoE damage Super with a Tier 4 CD. Buffs Cryoclasm now adds 2 slots, up from 1. Reworked Howl of the Storm would have 2 Fragment slots. Nerfs Diamond Lance reduced to 2 slots. Shadebinders New melee: Quaking Palm - Strike the ground with a powerful blast of Stasis energy, which can swiftly Shatter nearby Frozen targets and Stasis crystals. New grenade: Flashfreeze - Throw a grenade with a delayed detonation that Freezes enemies in its kill radius. Similar to a Solar guardian's Incendiary Grenade... but Stasis. New Super: Strident Hailstorm - Create an arsenal of Stasis turrets and rain cold havoc upon your foes. Creates 4 beefed up turrets in a square formation at your location which deal significant damage to Slowed targets (and even more so against Frozen enemies). You also become a turret, which hovers behind you Hitsugaya Toshiro style (5 points if you get it). Buffs Iceflare Bolts added effect: "Freezing multiple targets in quick succession will Fortify you. Frostpulse renamed Frozen Heart, with added effect: "defeating multiple enemies with Shatter damage grants Stolid. Had a few more ideas in mind but it's already getting lenghty.
