I don't get why the casual player base gets so toxic over talks or actual increases in difficulty. Outside of the new player experience Destiny 2 is extremely easy game and even more so now. I'm trying to understand why raising some higher difficulty for activities is considered "gatekeeping". Which doesn't make any sense since you can still get the rewards you just have to work harder. (Trials)
I'm am a casual with a full-time job and I would love to engage with harder content
i.e D1 nightfall. Especially for some exclusive rewards and vanity items definitely.
My point is as a Guardian from the very beginning D1 had the prestige of completing truly difficult activities. D2 doesn't give that same burst of emotions when completing activities. Well, trials did before the flawless pool. When playing against sweats as the underdog team and win that lighthouse game.
I just wish the casual community will chill out about not making the game harder. Having to work through difficult content is not the end of the world or break the game. This goes with PvP and this whole notation that people are being gatekept from the lighthouse. It's meant to be difficult and not hold your hand. You have to face the best which is why I don't understand why that's the problem. (Since, someone will bring it up I went flawless before the pool was introduced and I went a 10+ win streak in the pool itself not impossible and with a good team its was fun as a mid tier player and non sweat.)
