Remove SBMM From Control

If you want sbmm, leaver penalties, freelance. The Glory playlist is for you. If you want to have fun and use whatever weapons you want, Control is for you. SBMM does not belong in a causal playlist.

      • Eh pvp feels more enjoyable now to where I'd actually consider playing past my three games or actually playing those three games to begin with. As people who have some superiority complex constantly say "git gud"

Control without SBMM is comp for casuals. SBMM gives casuals/non-sweats a place to actually relax. It's been about 3 years of pure pain for average players. Time for the sweats to feel what average players have felt for a long time

SBMM does not belong in a causal playlist.[/quote] Here’s the rub right? With the comp playlist, all of the really really good players should’ve been spending most of their time in there, leaving the causal gaming for the casuals. But some of the hardcore PvPers -blam!- weren’t THAT good realized that they could take serious advantage of CBMM and absolutely wreck the -blam!- out of the casuals in quick play, because they would have no avenue to improve, since they’d be spending 80% of the match dead, dying, or running away. So what happened? Because the hard cores turned what should’ve been the casual’s playground into a slaughterhouse, they turned off CBMM.

I think it’s great and it’s here to stay for a while seeing numbers are up. The overall numbers reflect a 4% increase in quitting and it’s not anywhere as drastic as players make it out to be. Bungie said in the TWAB it’s an overall success except for 2 issues they’re monitoring. Quitting matches up 4% and connections. They’re not sure how much the connection issues attribute to players dropping from matches. I’ve played a lot of Control almost every night this season (70-80 matches) and I think I was dropped twice due to connect issues in the match (not mine). My guess it’s players that are angry they’re not capable of facing players On the same skill level or higher KDs than theirs. Obviously sone people are improving like I am and sone are coming down to earth and dislike it.

              • The reason control has SBMM now is because you guys didn't treat it like a casual playlist mate.

                      • Destiny is far higher on the skill bracket than the other PvP games out there. Not technically a shot for shot skill game like CS.. But… I will explain: The number of things going on in the game takes more skill to combat. You have buffs, de-buffs, kill perks, damage buffs, abilities, weapons that one tap/two tap or take far longer to kill an opponent, classes, sub-classes and supers…. Players run around and say x takes no skill… forgetting the skill it takes to combat said things. The number one issue with a any player vs player game(anything that is person vs person) is peoples egos. We are in a topic where people want easier games at the cost of other players experiences and they are bickering about it. There is absolutely nothing in this game that would allow me to beat a better player. Could I get a cheap kill on a better player? Absolutely. There are moments when higher skilled players get cheap kills on me. There is no difference. If you want to point out what is wrong with PvP, sbmm is not the issue. It is a result of the issues. One of the repeating complaints that I see about sbmm is that players say they can not “experiment” with load outs because it is a try hard mode now. That is game balance NOT sbmm. Playing against bad players so a player can “experiment” is a ridiculous scenario. Because you are actually gaining nothing per a load out that would not work against equally or better skilled players. A player can only experiment when playing worse players is not a good thing in a game. If we are to have no sbmm then the game will need overhauled to bring a better balance to the world loot pool so that ALL players can always have a place to experiment in said “casual” mode. Do you know what happens when a high skilled player is experimenting in PvP and losing their fights? They switch back to the meta. Why? Ego. What makes a players desired experience more important than any others? Ego. Why is it a player can not experiment in sbmm? Because they are losing to metas… Ie ego instead of working on their skill with a non-meta loadout against equally skilled players. That is a game issue not a match making issue. The majority of players are not overly great in this game vs the die-hards… this means the majority of players have not been enjoying this games PvP… and for all the same reasons higher skilled players are not liking sbmm in control and are complaining. At the end of the day… the population is going up, matches are going the distance, and bungie will continue to fine tune the experience as they get data back.

                        • True. Sadly this forum is infested with some cringe unemployed kids who made it their full time job to instantly downvote every type of criticism on their beloved SBMM. Meanwhile this system hurt actual pvp players and made pvp more enjoyable for the "does his 3 matches for the pinnacle and never touches pvp again" players. Why ruin the fun for the actual pvp enjoyers for the 20 minute per week enjoyment of some pve only warriors?
