We thought we were being creative and using the different things in the game, but nope.
Bungie's Boss Bash is unblockable and unstoppable.
I don't understand what Bungie is trying to accomplish by keeping these kinds of mechanics, and making the very things in the game designed for blocking damage, Sentinel super and glaive block, completely useless.
Somebody tell me what I'm missing, or are we only able to do this GM Nightfall by using Skyburner's? If so, screw this game. I just don't get why Bungie keeps giving us abilities and gear design to block stuff if it's straight up not going to work.
Edit: players saying backup and don’t use whatever. You’re missing the point. Nothing beats boss stomp because hurr durr swords and shotguns were too powerful. Well, bungie nerfed snipers for the same reason. So what? They don’t want us to use shotguns or swords, nor snipers, yaa daa yaa daa.
This stomp mechanic is old. It ruins the game by way of completely negating the very things the game has given to use for things like that.
Bungie needs to do better. It wasn’t difficult to go back in an beat the thing. It was boring and disappointing, but hey, now I have my conquerer seal and I literally give zero shits about doing it again. Because it it’s -blam!- boring playing this way.

2 RepliesImagine still taking 30+ min to clear proving grounds. Skyburners isnt essential, you just need to not all 3 go in at once and from the same direction holy moly.

It's rather weird. Blocking with Sentinel shield won't cancel knockback, but blocking with a sword will. -
The stomp in general, is just too op. From Duality to Proving Grounds, it need to be toned down.

11 RepliesStomp mechanic was added for balancing, like 90% of bosses in this game are dying to swords easily, without stomp mechanic there would be no point to use different weapons for damage. I don't like this mechanic, but what should they do to balance close combat? Nerf swords and shotguns?

Bungie advertises the game as be the guardian you want to be and play how you to want to play all while doing insane things like this or nerfing weapons to force everyone to use the same thing

He has a point though, the only thing even capable is lament while holding charge but this could’ve been another viable option
