I bet some PvP players sphincters are already tightening, because they will have to play against people in 'their own skill bracket' in PvP, while feeling crushed as they watch their K/D plummet lol. How can a player in the bottom 10 or 30 per cent of K/Ds actually learn by being killed in seconds by someone who has a K/D in the top 10 per cent?
Top tier players absolutely crush lower tier players while not even trying. They swap loadouts/builds every ten seconds to see how they work etc. by blowing away New Lights and lesser players as they fly through the air like the predatory animals they are. I love the skill of the top tier players, but they should not be let loose on New Lights and those that really struggle to get a grip on PvP. Not everyone is genetically blessed to play at the top tier of any sport, no matter how hard they try to 'git gud.'
The biggest lie by elite athelets/gamers is when they say, "If you put in the hard work like me you too can reach the top." What a load of bullshit, I could practice all day and never be Wayne Gretzky or LeBron or Beckam, or Ash Barty or ...... fill in the blank of super star sports person. And the same goes for PvP, no matter how much they try to git gud or how good their loadouts/builds are most players will never reach top tier, they will remain lambs for the killing by the ultra PvP predators. This is facts.

2 RepliesYou mean the elitist players who hate every aspect of competition but will preach to others about "get good"?
-
you do know that being good at this broken -blam!- game means nothing, right? let the number chasers cry. -blam!- em.

All the K/D and win farmers are the ones that must really be taking a hit. Top players will still be top but the ones who 6-stack and farm stats to an unrealistic and inflated representation of their true skill should get hammered pretty hard. Season 19 when the team based matchmaking comes in will also be great. I bet the amount of LFG ‘6 stack, 1.8kd + to pub stomp’ post will reduce when they start matching eachother.

1 Replynah, they will just stay out of control, simple

2 RepliesThis man 100% got bullied by jocks and got smacked around in the crucible.

Control population will be the true measure of which matchmaking many prefer. If the control playlist is heavily populated, while the other playlists are emptyish, that will be as telling as if the opposite occurs. I do remember when SBMM was active in more playlists then CBMM. The CBMM playlist was a graveyard, but many high skilled players said this was because the icon for the CBMM playlist was small compared to the SBMM icon. I think Bungie might be using this to see if the SBMM list draws more people to the game.

I dunno If it's gonna be that drastic tbh BUT this has been a long time coming.. I hate PVP but if I have to play it to get certain weapons or complete certain quests such as the solstice kill guardians triumph then so be it. I'll jump in and get my face caved in by PVP sweats. Its not at all fun or pleasent to have to play 60 plus matches just to get 4 or 5 kills a match because your facing players who do nothing but play crucible all day every day.. Its about damn time bungie evened things up a lil bit

1 ReplyYour logic is wrong , you’re using basketball ball to justify your argument when in sports genetics play a big roll and not just hard work . While playing games genetics don’t matter, how you understand the game and play it matters along with hard work. The more read these type of post the more i cant wait to see all the crying in season 18

There is so much delusional people in these forums thinking like sbmm is going to hurt players better than them lol
-
1 ReplyI see fear in the eyes pf bagging stack Teams cause they will fight against good Solo Player in future😏

The ancient wise words of the rolly polly masters come to mind.."get guud scrub!"

SBMM = Sweats be mad, man. Alt = Scrubs be mediocre, mate.

Edited by Master-Squirrel: 7/30/2022 9:48:54 PMIt's just to satisfy all the crying on the internet so Bungie don't have to hear it anymore.

10 RepliesWhat is scary is the fact that outlier players are most definitely going to experience a major degradation in connection quality and MM speed. an 800 (or -800) skill player in a lobby with a +/- 200 skill variance will only have access to about 5% of the player population. Put yourself in their shoes for a second. They just got told that more than likely, their player pools for matchmaking got cut to 1/10th or 1/20th of the size they currently are. Considering Destiny's current propensity for connection issues, how do you think cutting the pool size by 20x will affect those players experience? Top end outliers are going to be waiting 10 minutes in queue again for a laggy multicontinental lobby where everybody is playing like they are trying to qualify for a tourney. Bottom end outliers, (mostly new lights) will be waiting 10 minutes in queue for laggy multicontinental lobbies where they wonder if they accidentally queues Black ops on their xbox 360. They will think the game is absolutely dead. Dont get me wrong, this system is probably of great benefit to AVERAGE players. People in the center of the bell curve. But for dedicated players and new lights its gonna get way worse. Which bodes poorly for population growth and long term player retention.

The biggest lie by elite athelets/gamers is when they say, "If you put in the hard work like me you too can reach the top."
I can tell you right now, you’re not going to get better if all you do is complain on the forum.

Enjoy your participation trophy while you can. Sbmm causes pvp to die and inevitably brings back cbmm.
-
Personally, I like playing good players/teams. Stomping the other team is not fun to me, I prefer competition.
-
Not really since it’s only implemented in Control first. They can just go to other game modes and still stomp players. Hopefully it also means Iron Banner Control and not only normal Control.

I see fear on someone using a ult account to talk sht

3 RepliesEdited by kime: 7/30/2022 2:10:07 AMAnd they are not all getting good at the game, many are just getting good at cheating. What percentage do you think of so called skilled players are just cheaters? Based on what I see in PVP right now that is pretty high

Can’t wait for it to come back …. Great move by bungo

Edited by Dante: 7/30/2022 5:34:12 AMnah im pretty sure everyone is tired of carrying 5 bots every match an example https://i.imgur.com/kkHD5fX.png i do rather have low kd and even teams than this -blam!-
-
Hey, even Shroud cries about SBMM. Now THAT is like LeBron going to the finals and complaining that he can't play against High School basketball players for the easy wins.
-
You forgot the f****** cheaters. They are probably crying the most

Destiny players when they have to play against people their own skill level (it’s too hard, somehow) (they can’t mercy rule/get mercy ruled every match anymore)
